Some of my relatives have been living abroad for years; they emigrated to places like Australia, New Zealand, UK and the US. They're doing very well there - far better than if they were to remain in their motherland. Last week, I got an email from an ex-classmate. He and his family will also be moving away from this country to live in Australia - for good. I'll be meeting him tomorrow and will ask what made him do so. For me, I have no money and I'm not getting any younger, so it's harder to get jobs abroad. I guess no matter how hard life is, no matter how unfair they treat me, I've to stay on. What about you. Have you ever thought of emigrating?

haha kev, you have just hit a question that is my profession.. before being a mother, I was working as a emigrating consultant giving the advises of what to do and finding out the objectives of people emigrating! Frankly speaking, this is something most Malaysians had in their mind, and even foreigners that came working here want to leave! My clients who are in the middle class able to settle better compare to those with lots of business and money.. like you, it's not easy for those 'rich' man to start all over again, and what they do is just send the children and wife over.. however for those professionals, they are able to secure jobs relatively good, of course you got to struggle in the start, but as long as the plans are good, you be able to find it a way... For you, if your profession is teacher, it's harder to move over... wah, when come to this topic, I sure have lots to say... since I have seen with my own eyes how desparate people wanting to leave! if you are below 45 years old, do it fast!

Hi cwong. Hey, looks like I've "found" the right person. I didn't know there's such a job in Malaysia. It must be interesting to find out the reasons for leaving. I wonder if consult those emigrating to our neighbour down south :) Tell me which countries are popular emigrating destinations? I bet Australia is top on the list - still wonder why. Hmm... Yea, since i'm not in the league of the rich and wealthy, I've to make do with whatever I have here.

kev.. at the moment, Australia is kind of popular since Canada has mellow down lots comparing years back.. remember those HongKee that emigrate to Canada back in 1997? and for the sake of our people, Australia is one country that near (only about 4 hours max to Perth), time (in Perth we are same time, in Melbourne, they are about 2 hours ahead) and also the offers from Australia Government... If you want to know more, you may got to write to me...

My grandmother is from India and I remember once she told us or suggested that we all go to emigrate in India in her home town we were shocked because we have been living here for many years and I have been born here so I cannot find myself to go and stay forever in a different country. So we did not go finally, well luckily for all of us here. And even my grandmother has found many friends whom she does not want to leave now, she often goes to India though to visit her friends over there too, I have never been there and maybe one day I can come to visit too.
