Housing foreclosures have risen again

United States

Even though our Government has put forth programs to "fix" the housing problems they are getting worse. In July the foreclosure rate has increased by 7-8% (I have read 4 article and two each had 7 or 8 % either way it went up). I would like people to stop rushing into these bills and programs and then telling me to wait for them to work. If we are expected to run into these programs they should work just as fast. Or in the least work at all. We cannot fix a budget of any kind by spending more money!

The false bottom being created is going to break eventually. Just be ready to pull your money from the stock market before it drops and keep living on a tight budjet and plan for the worse. This whole mess is far from over and I feel sorry for those who will not be prepared because they believe that all this spending is working.

Yeah my grandparents were one of them... they got scared and took their money out when it was in the 6000's, but at least they had a lot of money so it didn't hurt them and they did the math and because for 30 years my grandfather's employer matched what they invested they made out in the end just not as well as they could of. I'm worried about my other grandparents more who shouldn't have put their money is stocks at all because they got conned into letting their bank play with the little savings they had and they went in at the peak and lost almost everything now it's going up but I know it will go back down and I hope to be able to talk them into getting their money out in time after they make back what they had in there to start with.

I feel bad for the ones stuck in the vortex who by no means of their own are being dragged down. Like some of the retirees who had budgets worked out a decade or more ago and are now not being able to keep up. Those poor folks are in trouble.

tdemex great answer.... Like it is that easy at a snap of a finger this can all be done. Hell if that was the case I do believe Bush would have had the opportunity to walk out of office as a hero. foreclosures have been going up since presidents bushs first term, slowly getting worse and worse as years passed by, but this was just ignored by all. So now we have a huge mess and they think we are the dilusional ones lmao... and now they say Wave that Magic wand presidnet Obama and make all the horrible things just go away..

We have a serious problem with this down here in Florida and it's not due to the government or their programs. The problem is that the value of so many homes have dropped so low that too many folks owe much more than the house is worth. There is no financial institution in the world that is going to willingly refinance a home that is now worth $250k but holds a mortgage of $350k. It's straight econimics. There is no government program that forces one lender to eat that amount of loss to another lender in order to assist a homeowner facing foreclosure.
