Last weekend we had our annual family weekend at the lake....over 30 of us....well for Sat. night supper we had a Mexican night....everyone brings something to add to the buffet. My niece brought Taco soup.....it was wonderful! She used her chili recipe but instead of adding chili seasoning she added a packet of taco seasoning and served it with corn chips....It was fantastic! Just sharing....something different for a change.

Hi there Jill! Ok, let me get this straight...she made Chili, like Chili with gr.beef and beans? But instead of Chili seasoning she used Taco Seasoning? Or am I missing something because it sure sounds really good. That sure sounds like a fun time you had! It's nice to have a big family.

Sounds good. My taco seasoning that I make and my chili seasoning are very similar in flavor, so I don't know how much it would change for me making the switch. My chili is almost like a taco chili anyway since I add sour cream to the top of my bowl of chili. I will have to try the corn chip thing though.

I have had taco soup before and it's great. I like anything hot and spicy anyway. It is a different kind of soup that is beyond tasty.

I make a taco soup with black beans. It also has a package of ranch seasoning mix in it. My taco soup is soupier than my chili. We like ours served over corn chips and topped with shredded cheese.

That must have been hilarious. I met Jimmy (?) Buffet some years ago when I worked at a small private airport. So he came into my office with his entourage and introduced himself. From the way he spoke I got the impression that he was someone that I should have heard of my hadn't. So I said Hello and introduced my self adding, I don't suppose you've heard of me either. Oh horrors of horrors as his entourage danced around him in outrage but he was cool with it. Surprised but cool. We both agreed that I really needed to get out more! He has 2 restaurants come bars etc on the Island. Yawn yawn. Once landed on the sea to enter his restaurant so he was briefly detained by the Coastguard police. Hello? Everyone has to go through immigration and customs.

Just get a chili recipe off the internet and instead of using chili seasoning use a taco seasoning.

I've never heard of Taco Soup but it really sounds good. Do you do it the same as tacos with the tomatoes, lettuce and cheese? I'll have to try this sometime and see how it is. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
