Have you ever lined a crochet item

I made my first crochet top, but the style I made is a little to revealing. I have to line it, but I have never lined a crochet project before. I am thinking it can't be that difficult, what you guys think? I am going to do a google search to see if I can come up with an idea to resolve. I am anxious to finish this top.

I have never lined anything but was thinking of crocheting a purse which would need to be lined....I don't think it would be too difficult to line but I am not sure about lining a crocheted top. I would be more inclined to wear something under it then try to line it.....as when you wash the item the lining or whatever might misshape the item.

You are right. I did not think about wearing something under it seems logical.

I haven't made a top so I have no adivice how you would do it. But may I suggest wearing a tank top or a nice "shell" top underneath?

Thanks for the suggestion. I did not even think about a tank top or shell top. I have not sewn the sides up yet. I am going to pin the sides up and see how it looks with a tank top.

I definitely agree with Jill. I see many ladies where tops with tanks underneath.

I can't crochet but can knit. Haven't gone beyond the very simple stages of doing afghans. So many have told me that crocheting is much easier than knitting but wouldn't have a clue where to begin. Can you sew a silk linking in the top so it's not quite to revealing? Good luck.
