It seems that the American companies have had enough of the hate talk spewed on Glenn Becks show and have pulled their advertising dollars. Seems like a lot of people find Beck extremely offensive and this is what Progressive Insurance had to say in response- "Progressive Insurance rep Cristy Cote said that the company wants to "avoid programming that we believe our customers and potential customers might find extremely offensive." So, what do you think? Think Beck will continue his hate talk or with losing ad money will he be pulled and dumped off the air? Any thoughts? http://www.walletpop.com/insurance/article/geico-cuts-ads-from-glenn-becks-show/615479?icid=main|main|dl7|link4|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.walletpop.com%2Finsurance%2Farticle%2Fgeico-cuts-ads-from-glenn-becks-show%2F615479

I don't find anything offensive about his show. He is about the only one left on any of the 3 big news netowrks still not afraid to at least like it is. I hear other networks and people acuse him of "hate" and I LAUGH.....HARD. He's a little out there in his presentaion (in the comical sense), but hate? ROFL! What a bunch of pusssies this country has become. Grow a spine America.

"What a bunch of pusssies this country has become. Grow a spine America." Amen! This is because he went on some show and said that Obama doesn't like white people. In fact he said that Obama is racist!

Saying that Obama hates white is plain nuts, where's the proof? I mean come on people how in the hell does Beck know Obama's thoughts? Is he psychic? Does he have some direct line to "god"? I guess we will agree to disagree.

This is a perfect example of the Americans people using their voice to denounce the actions a someone they don't approve of. I have said many times, if you don't like someone's views on TV, contact their sponsers. When they don't have money, they won't be on the air very long. I am sure we all remember when this happened to the Simpsons back in the 80's, and democrats have learned from republicans since then. Good to see these companies standing up for what is right.

Slim Fast dumped Whoopie Goldberg years ago, too, for some hateful and nasty comments she made about Dubya. I remember writing an email asking for her to be fired. But I was rather surprised that they did it and now I'm sorry that I sent that email because I believe in free speech and I think it hinders that.

LOL Piasa why would you feel bad, the people spoke and Slim Fast listened. I don't remember that inncident but, I think that sponsors should understand that there are things their spokespersons do that turns off consumers. TGB what happened to the Simpsons?

Pias, I believe in free speech, but we all have to held accountable for our actions. When G Gorden Liddy told people to shot ATF officers in the face because their body armer will stop most bullets, people should have stepped up, but didn't. When Glenn Beck called on people to go out and disrupt these town hall meetings, and they have done that, and even used hate symbols to prove their point, they need to be stopped. When your words cause situtations where people could be hurt, or threatened, then something needs to be done. Beck has made no attempt to talk to his listeners about what he asked them to do, and no one knows if he followers have been the ones that have made headlines, but he should have done something.

We should have free speech and people shouldn't be writing about him. I thought he was a Republican? However I'm not sure. He is interesting to listen to and I think he makes you think. You shouldn't accept things as face value and it's our duty to investigate. We shouldn't have to be herded like some sheep. We should be able to speak for ourselves and we shouldn't have to be censored for not agreeing with everyone. I don't agree with everything that he says. In fact, it's your choice to listen to him so if you don't want to listen to him just turn to another station. That's my view in it.

He screams at his guests, is that acceptable adult behavior? I don't yell or scream at people that come to my house that have a different opinion than I do. If that is acceptable behavior for conservatives, I'm glad I'm a liberal. You're right we do have free speech and everyone that has watched the show and been insulted by his comments have every right to call the sponsors and complain to them about funding the trash he spews. Just like all the rightys called CBS over Letterman. Or are Republican's memories really that short that they don't remember a few months ago being outraged by Letterman's comments???

The only question is whether other sponsors will take their place. I've heard he still gets good ratings and that will be enough to keep other sponsors coming. I don't watch his show much, but I don't see all this hate speech you're talking about. He's definitely heavy on the doom and gloom which is why I never watch an entire episode, but have you seen the other side? I've been going through clips of Keith Olberman and Chris Matthews on youtube and it's hard to stomach 5 minutes of either of them. I can't imagine anyone sitting through an episode of their hate speech. I think their ratings reflect that I'm not the only one who feels that way. If I actually cared I'd complain to their sponsors, but frankly, their ratings are so far in the toilet it doesn't matter.

I'm sorry Taskr I used "you" as a generalization and I shouldn't have done that. What I should have said was, conservatives that complained about Letterman can't have it both ways. I picked a bad choice of words.

It's a simple matter of PR caution. These companies don't want to risk losing their customer base while sponsoring a guy that's clearly going to get people pissed off for stating this opinion. I am amused at the people who have a stick up their butt about this. I don't think it's all that inflammatory. Was it a stupid remark? Heck yeah, but it's not like no one ever saw it coming. Hell, white people get that same accusation by prominent "black leaders", or even nobodies who think there's we're still keeping the "black man down". Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson made their living off of screaming 'racist!' when it wasn't necessary. I wonder if ColorofChange.org is going to protest the racial divide caused by minority leaders as well, or are they just going to speak up when an "angry white man" does it?

Piasa out of 110 supreme court justices we have had 2 blacks. Great job America keep up the great work promoting the black man. We all should take a nice pat on the back. 106 of those 110 have been white men.

I think the blacks of this nation have suffered enough at the hands of white people. And, if one is calling blacks the N word and making general assumptions such as all blacks are on welfare and lazy than yeah they should make those claims. And, honestly do you really believe that those black leaders do not have the right to believe that whites are keeping the "black man down"? How many black presidents in our 200 plus years of government have we had? How many black supreme court justices have we had since the start of the court?

Being up here in Canada, I haven't heard a lot of what is going on with that, but if it's really bad, and advertizers are pulling their dollars, maybe the networks will wake up and take notice!! Since the U$A seems to revolve around the allmighty dollar, maybe the networks will take notice.

Well Beck a conservative talk show host made claims that President Obama is a racist. That he hates white people. And, a lot of Liberals are upset that he would make such an outlandish claim.

I don't think it's hate talk. He is presenting facts. He backs them up with more facts. He'll get more sponsors. There are still people that want to hear the truth. I realize that everything he says might not prove to be true eventually but the way he connects the dots is logical. And if even 10% of what he says is true, we're in deep trouble. He already has a few "re-founders", members of Congress and Senate who are going to blow the whistle on government corruption!
