Early Australian Ford VIN numbers

Anyone have any info on early Aussie Ford VINs, they look US in appearance. During 1962? to 1982 Australian Ford VINs had a unique format, which I understand. e.g. JG23KL1234K which decodes into J=Australia, G=Melbourne, 23=Falcon 500 sedan, 12345K production serial number. But in the first couple of years, Ford Australia used e.g. 62CODB58A for an XK Falcon made in 1962.
