DNA Evidence Can Be Fabricated?

According to a recent article, it is found that scientists in Israel have demonstrated that DNA evidence can be fabricated, so that blood and saliva taken from one person can appear to be from someone else instead. They outlined their disturbing discovery in the journal Forensic Science International: Genetics. Just when we thought that forensic science took a big leap forward with the discovery of DNA, forensic fingerprinting and now this. I can understand about loopholes and shortcomings but this one is certainly unexpected for me. This discovery is indeed an eye opener for me and I hope that it will be one for the authorities who are directly involved. I just cannot imagine if the person on the job could actually abuse their position and put the wrong person behind bars. I feel my concern here is not a paranoia but one of genuine caution and prep. And I just hope that this will not become an inadmissible proof in the courts, in the future. What do you think?
