Ok, I will start by saying I love my hubby dearly!!!! and the fact that he wants to help out is so wonderful!!! He got injured on the job so he has been home much more lately --I wouldnt mind so much if the pay wasnt cut in half at this point... but it is nice to have him home and help out. Now, sounds great... and he had to run to work this morning and while he was out he was going to pick up laundry soap on the way home.. he even called to see what brand I preferred and what we needed... and when he got home, of course --it wasnt the right kind!!! We have stackable washer and dryer and we need to use the HE soap, not regular soap....so he is now taking it back and getting the right kind....LOL Does your hubby help out....and does it end up being the wrong kind of something that he brings home??

My husband tries to help out, at times, but generally, I have to go behind him and fix things anyway. He does not go to the store for me unless he is headed there with a friend already, which is very rare. Just in case you didn't know, you can use the regular soap in an HE machine. I do it all the time. The only thing to remember is that you only use half the amount of soap. I actually prefer to buy the regular soap because I actually get more wash loads out of the bottle. Another thing that I was told by a serviceman is that in an HE machine, you should never use powder, even if it says HE on it. The reason is that the powder will eventually end up clogging the hoses. Regular liquid will too if you use too much too often.

thank you for telling me that... I will remember that next time...however my hubby did take the soap back and get the HE... but I like the fact of using half the amount and getting more loads out of a bottle!!!!! I hate using powder soap...when we lived in the apartments and we use to get these sample boxes...they were powder and I would do the laundry and half my clothes would come out with clumps of powder --no matter what kind we used, so now I only use the liquid kind. Have you had a similar problem with powder kind? thank you for the response and have a great day!

My husband is pretty good about getting the right kinds of things. Of course, we don't really buy all that much that isn't for ourselves. When it comes to laundry soap we know what kind to get, we also have to get HE, but we live with his parents still, and so while it is for us, it's for them too... if that makes sense. There's been times we've both gone to the store for his parents and brought home the wrong thing, but that is rare as well. I am actually trying to think of a time that my husband brought home something that was the wrong brand, but I can't think of anything. Usually he'll ask me if he's not sure, and I actually asked for something for Christmas, he wasn't sure what it looked like and so went online to find out!

Hi, bookreadermom08. Yes, he does this quite a lot! But when he does do something for me that is incorrect, I will still tell him thank you and that I appreciated him going out his way for me. He has done the rice like this. I told him to buy me the bagged rice but instead he comes back with Success Rice, the five minute rice that is in the pouch. I don't like cooking this type of rice because the water boils from it too quick. I remember, I told him to bring back me some tea in the plastic jug, and instead, he brought back the tea in the box that comes with 20 bags.. I am like this is the wrong thing!

sadly I think even if we right it down and give them a list they still will manage to bring home the wrong thing....but just think positively and sometimes they will bring home something that we can use and maybe even find a use for the things they bring home that are wrong...LOL thanks for the response and have a great day!!

With us it's actually the opposite. He's pretty good at getting what I ask, once in awhile he brings home the wrong thing, but myself on the other hand I always seem to get the wrong thing he asks me for. I don't know why, I listen to him and I know what he says, then when I get home and he tells me I picked up the wrong thing I'm thinking "No way" Lol. When he does this I almost feel like i have no short term memory. To fix this I now write out a list so it's right there exactly. I found this helps in alot of areas, so now I'm always making little notes, lists and reminders for things so I'm sure I'm doing or getting the right things done. :D
