In my case neither. And it is not really good to see your parents broke up. I hope parents will think twice before doing anything.

If ever my parents broke up I like to go with my mother because I'm very close to her than to my father. You can have emotional attachment to your mom you can tell your problem unlike to the Father. My mother have a long patience to my father so up to know they are been together.

It's our choice, if you are ready to be independent then go ahead, but I think a parent's guidance is a big help.

When my parents told me they were getting a divorce after 18 years of marriage, I was a mess! I decided to try the "joint custody" thing, but after a few months I realized it wasn't going to work. Even though I was only 11 years old, I decided to live with my best friend. To this day, I don't talk to my family anymore. They completely ruined my childhood. Which I can never get back. So, in my opinion, divorce is not an option. I am only 23 years old, but I've been married for over 3 years, and I will never get a divorce and put my son through what I went through! That's just my opinion.
