Do you wear flip-flops in summer?

I do here and there out of convience. They are easy to just slide on and go and do what needs to get done and still keep the soles of your feet safe. But for long walks ect I wear tennis shoes, too bad work didn't allow them w/o a medical excuse... Either way I'm sure we all know they probably are not the best for our feet and here's an article that mentions why flip-flops are bad for your tootsies as well as other muscles in your body. http://www.newsweek.com/id/140900 But like anything we won't stop wearing them til they hurt our feet.

I wouldn't mind going barefoot more in summer but I have a gravel drive way! And I have to go thru that to get to the back yard and my tootsies are too delicate for gravel!

Last summer I practically lived in them. This year though I have been wearing crocs all summer long. Ok, I wore them all winter too, but they were the fur lined ones. I have really flat feet to begin with so they don't really bother my feet. If I walk long distances in them though my toes do start to hurt.

I had a pair kinda of like crocks w/o the back strap & holes and my feet have been paying for it ever since last summer. They were so comfy til I realized my feet were sliding sideways in them.... GRRR... & every time I try them this summer they really hurt my feet.

I don't wear the kind that goes between the toes and the ones I wear are just so I can get around in the house because I can't go barefoot - even if I didn't have the cats

I'm not a fan of that lil thing between my toes either. I don't blame you on that one. I only wear the ones I have cause that's what we have in the house & they were really cheap last summer. I think we found a budwiser t-shirt + flip flops combo for say $2 or less and hubby bought a couple. Plus when my kids book it out the door it's easy to get them on rather than putzing to tie shoes.

I wear flip flops unless there is snow on the ground! I love them, and I hate to have my feet covered up. I know they're not good for my feet but I can't walk well with my arthritis so it's not like I'm wearing them in a marathon! I go barefoot around the house.

THat's how I felt about my birkenstocks (generic ones of course) but I haven't seen them in the stores and I don't feel like spending money on the authentic ones so I guess I"m out of luck til I see them again. They are so nice with rag wool socks & a regular pair in addition when snow starts to fly. I've worn them in winter, just as long as there was not as substantial snowfall on the ground

Yes, I do wear flip-flops. I really enjoy wearing them. I find them very comfortable. If I could, I'd probably wear all year round. However, I can't, as I live in Canada and we have cold winters.

As I mentioned in another post, I liked to wear birkenstocks with heavey weighted socks even in winter! Just so long as I'm not outside shoveling but for a jaunt from the houst to the van no biggie.
