Which would you pick?

If you could choose between living up in the mountains or on the coast of the beach, which would you choose? I would choose the mountains because for me I see so much more beauty and serenity there. Plus mountains usually have smaller towns and I feel living someplace like that would be incredible! But if you could live at the beach or in the mountain, which would you choose?

This question is posted many many times over the last few months I have been a member of MyLot.
It is a very tricky question. I enjoy both of these places. So I am going to live on a Mountainous Island. So I can have the best of both.
Cheers.

Think nothing of it. I was just saying it is a very popular question. I found that a lot of people chose both. It seemed to me it really did about even out in the end though. And I agree many people would love that concept, imagine, like close your eyes and imagine this. You are hiking up a mountain, you get about the tree line, look back over your shoulder and see the sun sparkling over the crystal blue ocean for as far as the eye can see. Hold that picture in your mind. And feel what you think that would actually feel like, hold that feeling for a few moments.
Let me know when you get back from New Zealand.

That would be a tough choice! That is largly why i love where i live....i am less than an hour from either! I live in a mdium sized town in maine that is less than an hour from the coast of the atlantic ocean...and less than an hour from the peaks of the mountains. Depending on my mood, i can go and spend time in either!

Aw, wow, you are very fortunate! Not many people can go from one evironment to the other like that! I'm in the same boat as you and I live about an hour from both as well but in the end I would still pick mountains. Thanks for you response!

Hi phoenix, I like having vacation in both these two sites that have different landscapes. I don't want to miss any of them. I always take turn to visit these beautiful places during holidays
If asking me which one would be the better if living there. I would like to pick living in the mountain. I love the natural environment there, yeah with lots of green trees and plants. The weather is very much cooler than that at the seaside. The air there is fresh for sure. It's good for our health. I like watching the vegetables, flowers and fruits growing in the mountain area. Due to the cold weather there they look luxuriant and lovely.
I like living a peaceful life, so I think mountain suits me more
Happy posting

For me it'd probably have to be the beach, 100 times over. We live about 5 minutes from the beach now in California, so it's something I love. Calm temperatures most of the time; when it's hotter inland, we're always a good 5-10 degrees cooler, which is something I enjoy a lot. I love the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves crashing in, and just the versatility of the area. I could see myself living in mountain areas, but it probably wouldn't be my preference.

I'd rather live in the mountains. I think it's so peaceful and quiet there. You have the forest all around you, you can see all sorts of wildlife and it's a lot harder for people to bother you when you live in the mountains. When you live at the beach, you have to deal with tourists, the possibility that it may rain and bring in big waves to wash out your home, etc. I'd rather be a little safer in the mountains.
