Heard on the news this morning that the pogo stick is celebrating 90 years. I had no clue it was that old! I can recall having one as a kid and I spent hours on the thing bouncing up and down until it made the inside of my feet hurt. It would rub. Maybe that's why I was always so thin..lol Please tell us about any experience you had with a pogo stick? Hopefully no broken bones or bad experiences.

I seen it on the local news channel too. I did not know they were that odl either. I have tried to use one of those before but never was good at it like my friend was. She could do it for a very long time and her brother could too but they had alot of practice.

I could spend an hour on it and never get tired. Of course I was around 10 or 11 and had extra energy. Thanks for responding.

I never really played with a pogo stick. I liked tricycles, bicycles, peddle cars, etc.

Takes a little bit of balance to stay on the thing. I also spent alot of time on a bike. Thanks for responding.

My parents wouldn't buy us a pogo stick. I used to use my neighbor's one instead and had loads of fun with it. Your right, though, I was so thin then. When I outgrew the pogo stick is when I started gaining weight. Maybe I should look into buying one for adults.

Would be so much fun to try it again. Just not so certain my balance is as good. Weight has never been an issue for me. I am so fortunate. Am thinking in terms of exercising if I were to try it again. Some of them now are so expensive. Thanks for responding.

I wasn't really graceful enough to really enjoy it....I would jump a few times....then fall off....never got hurt just never got the whole jest of it....so I wasn't one of my favorite things.....but my dad made us stilts and I did very well on those!

I wasn't as good on stilts as I was the pogo stick. It was my favorite past time along with a softball and glove. Didn't know which to do first. Thanks for responding.

Hi Carolbee,, i think I was the only child that never had a pogo stick, as my mum used to say I'll break my neck on it, but my friends used to have them and I was too scare4d to go on them so I really missed out on the fun side of it, shame. Tamara

They could have been dangerous if not careful. I saw kids who were showing off fall off. Thanks for responding.
