I have a "Sony DVD RW AW G-170A" it reads only select DVDs. What I mean to say is that when I first bought it, it was able to read all type of DVDs but now when I insert any multisession discs it fails to read. But when I use ISO Buster after a couple of tries it reads it clearly. I dont understand what is wrong with it. I need serious help on this.
Please help it anybody has any solution.

Hey bro, same problem here also. I've too got same DVD writer but now its 2 years old. It only reads CD/DVD which doesn't have much scratches or the new one.It fails to read older CD/DVD's.
I think the main problem is with it lens.Due to regular use its lens get weak or dust might have covered its surface.
Try to clean the lens with a Lens Cleaner CD or open the DVD-Writer box and try to clean the lens manually with an ear-bud.
If you are not technical person or you find it difficult do not open it and take to any service centre and get it repaired.
Hope this might help you.....

Hey,
I don't really know how to help other than trying to re-install the driver. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question better than I have done, in a really good way so you can actually benefit from it. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!
