As some of you might be aware I was in hospital earlier this year having a pollop removed from my throat so that I can speak without a grainy voice or even losing it completely by the end of the day. Well anyway, whilst they were down there they discovered that I had in fact two pollops on my throat but could only remove one at a time due to swelling. The biggest one was taken out with the hope that the second smaller one would shrink or even disappear. I had my check up the other week and as my voice has become wraspy again they have decided to get me in and whip the other one out. It is a straight forward proceedure so I am not worried but it is an inconvience having to organise the kids and stuff.
Have you ever had to go in for the same operation more than once?

An operation done twice? Ooh does that hurt? I have not been operated in my lifetime and I'm afraid to go under the knife and needles.
What is pollop anyway? And why does it keep growing up? Is it like goiter?

Hi there iskayz
I am not sure why they grow back and I don't know what a goiter is either!! LOL
. They did check the first one I had removed and said wasn't cancerous as they suspected and I am not worried about the second one being cancerous either. Pollops are quite common on the throat and appear due to lots of use and strain - apparantly. I have a friend who has also had pollops but they weren't on her throat so I have no clue how or why she got hers.
Take care and thanks for your response

I have had two c sections.. and the first time i was worried about the section, but the second time i was more worried how my first daughter was doing wihtout me then i was the section. i felt like i couldnt get home fast enough to be with her again. it was the first/only two nights she's ever spent away from me. i guess she did fairly well though.

aww well they have you up and walking 12 hours after the surgery, and i could have easily went home the next day the second time.. seem everytime i have a baby i have a wonderful week long natural high and i can *puts on her superwoman cape* DO ANYTHING!! haha. I was smart and left my daughter with my friend instead of hubby.. I was worried he wouldnt get up with her in the night because he's a very heavy sleeper, and also, he couldnt come to see me in the hospital if he had her at home.. so she went on vacation with my bestest buddy whom i dunno what i'd do without!

Hi Siss
Well I guess I was lucky to have had all three of mine naturally and was able to get out of the hospital within 24 hours of having the babies. I was so worried about them because their father was looking after them and he didn't have much of a clue.
Thanks

Hi Humbug25,
Wish you a speedy recovery, take care. Like you, i have had the same operation done twice, once way back in 1997 and again in 2007, and as of now the doctors assure that the problem is finished for ever, and i am also having no troubles.
Take care friend.

.
A goiter is a condition on the throat too. The neck becomes enlarged a bit and its due to lack of iodine.
