As a San Francisco 49ers fan, I watched the NFL draft his year, excited at the possibility of getting Crabtree with the #10 pick, even though the last time we took a receiver #10, JJ Stokes, it didn't turn out well. When we got Crabtree with the 10th pick, I was ecstatic.
With the regular season just around the corner, Crabtree is still unsigned, the last of the 1st round picks not signed. Crabtree wants to be paid more then the #10 pick should be. Crabtree wants to be paid more then this years #9 pick and the 49ers say no way and I say ya.
It doesn't matter if Crabtree thinks he is worth more then the 10th pick, that's where he was picked, live with it buddy. Maybe if he had a better attitude he would have been picked higher.
I hope he doesn't sign. I hope he sits out the entire year. If he thinks he's going to be a top 10 pick in next years draft he's California dreaming. He should call Mike Williams another receiver who sat a year. To Williams credit it was ruled he wasn't elligible for the draft and having signed an agent he couldn't go back to school. Now Williams is out of the league. I'm not sure if Crabtree is smart enough to realize what he will loose if he insists on being unreasonable.
Some people have to learn the hard way.
