Annoyed when people said "bro"!

In Indonesia recently, I don't know where it starts, male start calling their male friend or acquaintances "bro". I know it is just a term like dude or friend, but I just found it annoying since I'm not their brother. If you want to call me, just said my name or call me dude or something, just not use the term bro, it's just misusing the real meaning of the words. Do you feel bothered if these happen to you? Any other term you hate when people calling you using that words?

yeah, its just short for brother. Which if you're not really family, its like saying you're like family. But if they don't know you; complete strangers, yeah then its annoying. If its a kid i don't mind. They're just trying to fit in, and be friendly. Someone older, you can call me Lord Doofus.

i think i would not mind it at all. i am sure it is meant in a affectionate way or in a very friendly way. so i would not mind at all. even this happens in my country in india where some people will call you as brother and stuff. but, i can understand that you might not like it. some people do not like it when people use relationship names,so it is just a matter of opinion.

I never used the word "bro". I do not like use it at all. I use other expressions like dude or guy. mabey a few others. bro comes form black slang in the us. I am not black and I do not care to use black slang like some whites do.

no, i don't get annoyed when my friends say "bro" to me because i use this same word for them too. and it shows my love and affection towards them and i don't think any one here would be annoyed if his friend would call him his bro.
