Gap Year

Do you know anything about gap year? I read a travel article, this guy quit his good job, and spend 1 year travel around the world. Most of the place he go is to help people, which so-called" gap year". Like a volunteer to help people.
If you know about gap year, will you quit your job and do that?

I would LOVE to do that..Only I couldn't afford to support myself and sustain without working. If I joined a program or something that had all expenses paid for (living costs and so on) - then definitely! I would LOVE to help people! The only problem with me right now is that I have 2 part time jobs trying to HELP myself stay afloat. 
. Perhaps one day, when I'm more financially stable, I will consider doing this. It's a great idea, and it's nice to see that some people who are more fortunate (like this writer) - are doing some good for humanity. If only celebrities and other rich people would do this, too!
