Not my favorite Tracy Chapman song and I don't agree with all her politics but I admire her dedication and low key contributions.
That being said, despite the cries of revolution, and the depiction of protesters at Tea Parties as angry mobs, the real revolution is not one of anger and violence, it's a revolution of thinking and responsibility. I believe that people are realizing how important it is to vest power in smaller government bodies, community and county seats, the rights of the states to make laws that govern them - and most especially, to halt the growth of the federal government and blunt its ability to usurp those powers we have traditionally felt were within the scope of local governments.
I think you would only see revolution in the case of the federal government doing something outrageous that is considered a dangerous threat to liberty, such as martial law or a blatant violation of Constitutional rights of the citizens. If the people didn't resist at that point, then it would not be revolution, just takeover.

I don't think there's a chance of a full scale civil war! Most of the right thinkers don't have the bolls! Now there are some very radical groups that may get in to a frenzied state and may start some civil disobedience but the Feds! Will stomp them out! Something along the bombing of the Fed building in Oklahoma City, wouldn't surprise me! The right thinkers are working up there followers, to almost the point of revolution but it ain't gonna happen!

The way I recall it with my feeble brain there were 3 people involved? Correct me if I'm wrong! I'm sure you would anyway. I was using this as an example, it could be the klan or any other right wing group of loonies! There were many of them in Northern Idaho when I used to live there, but I've heard they've moved on. i think it may be a peaceful conscious revolution that is already happening. look at what has happened in the U.S. the first black president ever! that was impossible a few years backs. i think the economic pressures will cause us to join together more. i also think the birth of movements like the green party also is an example of how our societies have spiritually evolved more. by the way, i love our president and i think he is doing a wonderful job running this country, especially under all of the pressures he has rebuilding our economy, here in the states, raising his own family, being our father, protecting us...wow! big job, can't think of any body better.

I don't think there will be a Revolution/Anarchy in our country, but the republicans are doing everything they can think of to discredit our President. They are really sore losers and just can't accept the fact that they lost the election. They have no intent on co-operating with the Democratic party to help turn the economy (not only of the US, but the whole world) around and getting things on the right track. It's a d*mn shame what they are doing to try and take down President Obama and the present administration. The pull all kinds of dirty tricks.

Yes, they've made up false rumors and lies to try and stop any changes of the health care bill, and are banking on it's defeat to bring down the administration. However, the republican party followers are like sheep, they go along and support anything their leaders want. They no longer think for themselves.

LOL I'm sorry I missed the US part, please forgive me I'm still on my first cup of coffee here. I think that it is a possibility that the US could end up in another Civil War because of the strong divid that our nation is currently experiencing. It's sad but, that's the way that it is. My father always says that Americans have short memories and can't remember the past and most times I feel he is correct, so if a Civil War were to erupt they probably would forget about how bad it was for this country 200 plus years ago.

Hello Jb...I have heard that song. As for my country, I think are we already IN a revolution of sorts...not war, but one of the people becoming more savvy about government and more active in it, avid about more fairness in many areas of life, less inequality, less control by big business, stressing education, addressing poverty and the economy more directly than ever...and still addressing race and gender issues...etc.

If there is going to be a revolution (and I doubt it), I hope it's kept civil. I tend to roll my eyes at secessionists and die-hard radicals who seem to be chomping at the bit to secede from the country and arm themselves to the teeth for the impeding fight.
Personally, I'd just like to see an overwhelming movement to scrap some areas of our government - like the party system, and start anew. That won't be happening, though.

I think it is more likely that we are (and have been for a long time) in the hands of a corporate conspiracy to run things and to take away our civil liberties.

. i tend to agree that having all the power in one place is not a good idea - spread it around a bit.
