Do people still enjoy breakfast in bed, nowadays?

I haven't had breakfast in bed for so many years, I've forgotten the last time. Many years ago (probably 50+) I remember my mother used to enjoy this little luxury, but the world was more relaxed, and a slower pace then. I wonder if people still consider it a luxury, and really enjoy when their, spouse/partmer, or kinds deliver breakfast in bed. How about you? Do you still get/give your partner that little show of love? Tell us your story.

I love breakfast in bed but it has been many years since I have enjoyed the luxury! The most I get these days is a cup of coffee in bed on Mother’s Day and my birthday! I’m not complaining really because I need to be awake for a little while before I want breakfast and probably couldn’t eat it if it was presented to me upon waking up anyway. You are right, years ago life was slower and more relaxed; I so wish we could go back to taking it a bit easier.

Hi paula, I think it's one of those nice traditions that's disappearing from society. I rarely see anyone tip their hat, or cap nowadays either. Thanks for respondine.

ha that would be the day i get breakky in bed. but then again i don't stay in bed long enough when i wake up. but it would be nice on mothers day, or some other special occasion. i know we did it for my mum a few times. both mum and dad still have a coffee in bed of a morning. my version of fathers day was cook my partner his breakky the day before cause i was going to well and truely gone by the time he woke up on fathers day. he was happy for that.

Hey weasel, it was a tradition at our home in the fifties, but I guess in this modern hectic world, it's like many other things, a thing of the past, now. Thanks for your comment.

I've never had breakfast in bed. However, I don't think I would like it. It seems to me it would be awkward to eat in bed and hard to sit properly to eat right and be comfortable. Not to mention the likely possibility of making a mess with everything being unstable.

I ubderstand what you're saying, but many years ago in western countries it was a tradition for Mother's Day. That is at least in Australia, in the fifties. If my mother didn't enjoy it, she was a very good actor.
