I do not pray but remember my God everyday before sleeping and whenever I need him.
I remember my God when I am happy and thank Him for the happiness he has given me.
I also remember Him in my bad times and request him to move the worries away and bring us happiness.
I only want from life is happiness, and my God is always there with me.

Personally I feel Prayer is the best way to get your day going, and to end your day as well. I find saying a Prayer is the best way for any situation you are facing and a big help for any situation. I will say I am saying a prayer of some sort at least 4-5 times a day at least. Most of the time it is when I am home, or on the road to work, and even at work, but I will make sure and Pray and Praise god on Sundays while at church as well. I feel that it is very important to develop a praying relationship with god especially as the time draws nearer to his coming back and all the evil happening around us.

I frankly do not believe that god is going to come back in the near future. I pray, because, I would like my family and friends to have a good life. I do not pray for riches, because everybody cannot me a rich man. I only pray so that the life passes peacefully without any major hazards.
Of course, if god is going to come, I am ready to meet him, because, I know, that I have not done any major evil things in my life.
Thanks for the response.

I prefer to meditate. the word meditation is wrong according to me. meditation has limited meaning. it means to meditate upon, preferably an object or thought. meditation always needs something apart from it. the english words have some limitations.
I know you meant "Dhyana'. since there are no other words in English language to express the meaning of Dhyana, one has to substitute it with the word meditation.
India is the originator of Dhyana. It had a tradition of producing the longest list of unending Dhyanis (Meditators). It has a history of million or even billions of years of effort passed down from one generation to the next, unbroken.
I do Dhyana for 20 minutes each - one as soon as I get up and one before going bed. if one has time can do it in the after noon or evening. Dhyana involves no forced rules. If thoughts come in, allow them to come in and pass through. Don't get involved with it. Slowly one will gain control over what will come in and what should be thrown out. It should be allowed to happen.
Prayer is something that one makes to a superior. A sort of begging. prayer reminds us of the master/slave relationship. this particular method is more found popular amongst the semetic societies.

Thanks for the response tulips. You are right, I have mentioned the word meditate, because some of our other mylotter members may not under stand the word "Dhayana". I have also used this word, so that some of the members who are athesists, can also contribute. I know some people who hate god but do meditation, as it improves their health. I always thought that how an athesists can do meditation but now with your explanation, I can now understand why and how they are doing it.
After reading your post, I would also like to know more about Dhyana, and start doing it.
