Is the Coast Due soon?

After just reading about the earthquake and tsunami in Samoa, it got me thinking to something I read not too long ago about Future earthquakes on the East Coast of Canada. I live in Newfoundland and it is said that a fault close to the Grand Banks (which appears to be pretty inactive right now) could go any day and when it does, it could be worse than the big one the west coast is waiting for. I don't know how much truth there is to this, but experts of spoken of this. As far as I know we are not very prepared and something like this already happened here in 1929 when a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck and sent a tsunami barreling towards the coast killing 29 people. There was an earthquake magnitude 3 or so a few months ago but nothing serious since 1929. Some experts say it is not a matter of of but when for the East Coast. Has anyone else heard anything about this? I am not worried. I have lived by the ocean all my life and would not have it any other way but I still find it interesting that everyone is always talking about the Big one in the west and you hear nothing about the ticking time bomb in the East!

You need to be ready for anything. Buy bottled water when it's on sale because if you don't have drinking water, you're done for! I hope a quake doesn't hit your area but California's is long overdue, too. Start preparing now and you won't be sorry later!

I know all about California and their long overdue quake! They keep saying it's coming any day now. That's a good idea about the water. Not many people think ahead like that but it's better safe than sorry when the time comes!

That is correct, those who live at the coastal region of our ocean needn't have to worry too much, for them , it is just part of the risk they are willing to take for making the choice of living there themselves. Every one i talk to who have home next to the ocean is living there by choice, not by force, but then again, most of them have some types of preparation in dealing with tsunami, hurricane and typhoon in advance especially those who are around the ring of fire region, it is just a matter of time the east coast will be hit badly according to the geologist, you just have to wait.
