I love bamboo very much and as a little proof about how much do I love it, I bought the bamboo-back-scraper or grater-like which looks like human lower arm complete with palm and fingers...aaargh! very good to scratch itchy at my back part.
Not just that, I also love to eat cooked bamboo shoots as part of my diet menu, thing which easily get at Sunday Market in my living area.
I got two (2) bamboo cylindrical pen/brush holders which are well carved and varnished. Very good looking which both of it got special antique value.
OK now my turn why I must have bamboo cane in my house, snake at high fear with bamboo, thing which I learned from locals and be the great reason why I keep bamboo cane in my house.

Yeah...I like Chinese caligraphy, I've seen it many times in my living area. Normally, during Chinese New Year celebration period of time where many caligraphic writers participate in Chinese caligraphy contests held at various hypermarkets. they all use bamboo brushes to demonstrate their caligraphic skills.

Hi, bamboo is versatile and very important. It is used as poles and floors and walls for small nipa huts in the Philippines. It's also now commercialized and made into bamboo tiles, etc so it can be used in big houses and small houses as well. It is also used as a raft or floating rafts in lakes and rivers.
We have a bamboo bed too and bamboo sala set in our former house. Then we use bamboo fence and gate too. In the kitchen I use bamboo cutting board.
My cousin's place had bamboo plants and as well as bamboo ornamentals.
Bamboo shoots can be eaten too.
