Maybe Mr Windsor of the palace is finally fed up of all the freebies. Maybe he's not too happy about escorting wifey around the globe for luxury free travel at the tax payers expense. The only reason he and his gaffes have survived the years is the questionable arguement that he along with the rest of the leeches attract tourists. So when I read this little gem I presume he's annonuncing closure of the palace as I doubt he's going to earn enough to keep it going without them. "The problem with London is the tourists. If we could just stop tourism." So should the UK ban tourists or Mr Windsor? (aka as Prince.)

neither. i simply think that the way we exhibit the royal family should be changed. now letting them roam freely has clearly not worked - tourists hardly ever catch a glimpse of them. no i suggest spacious enclosures in the palace grounds where they can prattle about to their hearts' content but tourist will get better value for their entrance fee as they will be guaranteed a sight of these strange (and lets hope endangered) creatures.

Well it could work but I'm totally against them having any luxury at all so we can go with your fenced off area but with special little window set in, like in prisons, where they have to sit and be forced to talk to tourists on unbreakable phones.

you are a little harsher than me. i don't approve of training zoo animals to do tricks - it's undignified and really only done to give visitors a cheap laugh.

I only said they had to hold a phone and speak into it, I didn't say they had to make any actual sense.

Hi sunny, personally I'd rather they were put on public dispaly for a public execution but I like your ironic twist here. I gather you'd be glad too to see the back of this last bastion of colonianism.

Definitley would. And if they were stuck inside the tv box as you suggest there would be an enormous saving on security as they already have their own.

.....and sponsorship money will ease the burden of taxpayers...

i would think that would be cutting his own throat. tourism means money to local businesses, which goes invariably to taxes, which ends up eventually in royal coffers.. i hope he has a plan B for later on

Hi Scarlet woman. You can see what we have to pay for which attempts to pass for brains here. About the best arguement that they've got going for them is that the tourists like them, so lets get rid of all the tourists. Duh

Sounds like Mr. Windsor should go. Tourism makes any area a lot of money and with the economy the way that it is every area needs the extra money.

Hi Zeph, the irony is that he would have gone long ago without the arguement that the whole royal clan attracted tourists to the UK, but now as he diapproves of them time to put him out to pasture in less luxorious quarters.
