I think that if we are going to fight this war then the troops need to be deployed and it needs to happen ASAP. What are we going to do just let our soldiers get killed while the administration sits around and determines what they want to do? You can't half fight a war. Either send what you need or pull out completely. I disagree with pulling out because I do believe the threat is real. Send enough help in to do the job. That's my gripe with Obama - he halfway does the job.

Yes, Gen. McCrystal should get the support he requests, but Obama needs to come up with the goals in Afghanistan before anything else happens... which means he needed to have those goals set months ago. It's like Afghanistan is a suprise to him.

Once again Ted I disagree with you but hey that is my GOAL today lol.. I think he had a goal they tried it, they were not able to pull it off and now another goal has to be made. He is the one that talked about taking from Iraq and putting it all in Afghanistan way back when something must have changed somewhere. Being privy to certain information can make or break what we think is the right thing to do.

True, and that could very well have happened. All I know now is he doesn't seem able to come up with any goals now. The first thing he needs to do is decide what the definition of victory is. Of course, that is confusing to him since he's already admitted that he doesn't really care about victory in Afghanistan. To him that seems like, "this notion of Emperor Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur." Right? lol

Is it because he doesn't care or is it because he knows that there is no such thing as a victory in this war? His GOAL is to get Osama. that is the goal not to try and win a war that is unwinnable. Victory is not how many people we kill or even how many prisoners we take it is about getting the top man since he is the one that masterminded it all. Ted you know as well as I do that Reagan would have settled this with just a few men and the goal would have been met 8 years ago if he was president and I know you know what I mean.
