will people try to imitate the crime in movies?

I am a CSI fan as many of you guys and I must admit that I am really magnitized by those odd cases. yet one question stays in my mind that will people try to imitate the crime from CSI ? since it offers so many ways to kill people, to hide the facts. I wonder for normal people, that's ok but for those mentally distorted, it's hard to say.
