Tis the season for pumpkins and jack o'lanterns!! Since we have a bit of spending money this weekend, I am thinking of taking the kids out to a pumpkin patch on Sunday. The one we went to last year was fun! It was a bit of a drive, but they had a nice hayride, a big corn maze, and some other fun stuff. We don't get our pumpkins there though. There's a farm around the corner that sells any size pumpkin for only $2. We always get our pumpkins there, nice big ones for carving into Jack O'Lanterns. Do you go to pumpkin patches? Hayrides, corn mazes? Where do you get your pumpkins? Do you carve them?

Sounds like fun! I am not sure there is anything like that around where I live, so I expect I will just be going to the shops and buying them! I don't carve them, I leave that to my hubby he is quite good at them as well luckily! xx

Yes we are. There is is a local farm here.. They have pumpkins and cider. There is a hay maze for the kids, and hay rides. It is a really good time.

Last year we took the kids to this church that was running a corn maze. They had the corn maze which was huge and awesome plus other activities. They had sling shots that were huge and flung water balloons at targets. They had big slides that went down the hill and you landed in a big pile of hay. They had a little track the kids could ride pedal bikes around. They had a hay ride too and a pumpkin patch. Their prices weren't bad on the pumpkins. I think they were like 2,4 and 6 depending on the size of the pumpkin. We're trying to go back again this year, but it is only on Saturdays in October and we just haven't had one open.

The kids and I went with my mom last year. I did not really enjoy it there much because my back was killing me that day. I almost did not go. The year before we when to this really cool place about and hour from my mom that even had a petting zoo. I am not sure if we will go to one this year or not.

We don't get pumpkins but I imagine if we did we'd go to the produce stand up the road from us. A person started selling produce and now sells pumpkins. I remember as a kid getting a pumpkin, but I think the most fun was getting pumpkin bags and raking leaves with my cousin and tossing ourselves into said leaves before raking them and putting them in the pumpkin bags. I think I'll most likely rake leaves and put them into bags when my husband and I have our own place and can do that.

This sounds like a wonderful family thing to do. It could become one of your family traditions and that would be great. No, we don't have anything like that out here although halloween is being celebrated more and more. 20 years ago you would not have seen kids out on Halloween.
