Does lime wire carry virues?

In my experience, it does. Be sure your antivirus is active and always updated. Viruses can create havoc to your computer. Be careful.

I have always been told it has....I think any of those free file sharing sites do. I would be careful when using those type of sites, I know that it is always nice to get something for free especially music but sometimes it is not worth it and I think in the sense of Limewire it is one of them. A friend of mine carried Limewire and her computer always seemed to run real slow and then once she did a virus scan and Limewire was one of the sites that popped up with a warning, she decided to get rid of the site and every since then her computer seemed to run a lot faster. I would suggest getting rid of it and just going with a paid site for your music.

I think Limewire doesn't have inbuilt viruses, but it sure ignores the safety measures. I once downloaded something from it which had a strong virus attached to it. Luckily my antivirus was fast to block that virus! Since then I have never used Limewire and wouldn't advise anyone to do so either...

File sharing is a wonderful feature by internet. But hackers and other malfunctioning agents do spread viruses to get information from source computer based on file sharing networks. So Lime wire is a file sharing client.. obviously it will effect to your computer if you are not user of any good anti virus application.

Hi. To literally answer your question I'd say no. Limewire itself doesn't carry virus if you purchased the software. But if you just downloaded it from somewhere then it might have a virus on it. That's maybe why your computer is being slowed down. And also be careful when downloading something from such p2p sharing methods. There are those who uploads songs or movies with viruses on it and you get to unknowingly downloaded it. You should have your anti virus always turned on and if possible be updated everyday. shadow41
