I have such a hard time keeping my DVR from filling up so "August Rush" is a movie I'd recorded or set to record several times since I've had the DVR but then I'd end up deleting it to make room for other movies or shows for some reason. I finally watched it yesterday and I LOVED it! It starred Keri Russell, Freddie Highmore and Jonathan Rysh Meyers. It was described on my cable guide as an "urban fairytale" and it guess you could say it was a bit corny but so what...lol? Has anyone here seen it and if so, what did you think? I've always liked Keri Russell ad the rest of the cast were also excellent. Especially Freddie Highmore as an 11 year old musical prodigy. Annie

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie as well. I thought it wasn't too out there until the very end when the parents come together called by their son's music. I liked the basic storyline of these two opposite world people meeting and having their brief encounter and thought Keri and Jonathon had a great chemistry. I liked how you saw how what happened always stayed with them and how they changed as time passed, but their was still that part of them that held onto that other person, wondering, hoping. The whole music manager (played by Robin Williams) was a bit much, but runaways being taken advantage of by adults in one way or another is a true state. Yes, this movie had you stretch what you could believe, but it's a movie right?

Right! I don't see anything wrong with an "adult fairytale" now and then. There is enough heavy and dark things going on in real life so I kind of enjoy escaping into a good movie. Annie
