I went to a babyshower yesterday and had a pretty good time. It was for my mom's cousin's daughter. I have not seen here in a few years, but have seen her family, because she was living in California to finish school. She is a nice girl and looked great pregnant. She's due in Novemeber, but many people think she might have the baby at the end of October. I got to send time with my great aunt, who me and my mom love. She's a lovely older woman who turned 80 in June and has no health problems.
The food was good and everyone really got a long. I felt bad for the girl's mother, though. She had invited many people and they did not come, even though they said they would. My family is very much like this and they can be very rude. A lot of nice gifts were given, and this shocked people because of the recession. She appricated everything she got. However, it was a fun party and I had a good time.

We don't have baby showers in England we normally buy a gift for the new born when it arrives, sounds like your cousin did really well ,having a baby is so expensive and there is so much to buy.I was always grateful for clothes and gifts when my kids were born.It is nice to know the little one is going to have a great family to come into.

Sounds like you had a delightful time at the baby shower. My cousin's wife had one yesterday as well, but I was unable to attend because I had to babysit my two nieces while their parents were at work.
It never ceases to make me angry when people go through all the hard work to prepare a nice party for someone and then a lot of the people don't show up despite the fact that they said they would.
As far as the gifts, despite the fact that the economy has been tough, I've been invited to four baby showers this year and I've made an attempt to get a nice gift for everyone. The things that I've chosen to give are not really fancy at all, but things that the new mothers are going to need even though they may not yet realize it.

hi smartie I am glad you enjoyed it so much and got to see
your great Aunt whom you really liked. The food was good
and everyone got along so that indeed makes for a great
time.It is sad when people will not come although they
were invited. It was a bit shocking I suppose because of
the depression but some people do not seem bothered about
it for whatever reason. they are the lucky ones with jobs and homes..
