Everyone faces some problems at some point of life. However, approach of different people is normally different. It is this approach that decides what would be the outcome of your efforts to solve the same problem. How do you approach the problems to solve them? Please share your experience and views here. One of the things I have learned when dealing with problems is not to make drastic or critical decisions in the heat of the moment -- chances are, you will regret it. Allow yourself to calm down and assess the situation objectively. This will give you a better idea of what you are dealing as well as the cause of the problem. If you are comfortable, you may want to consult a friend or family member and ask for their un-biased opinion. When making decisions, it is important to maintain a level-headed approach and not be too overwhelmed and emotional of the whole situation. As the saying goes, everything looks better after you have slept on it.

I agree with you that we should not take any drastic action when we are not comfortable mentally. In such situation, buying time would be better way to avoid taking decision in hurry and under pressure of the circumstances. If we are comfortable, we can think of different alternatives and then compare each of them to reach to the best possible solution. Consulting a friend would also be helpful in some cases. However, I personally feel that the final decision should be taken by one's ownself only.

In my line of work, I used the 5-why approach very often in solving problems related to my work. Its an approach of knowing the real root cause of the problem at hand. Sometimes I used this approach in problems I usually encountered at home. Knowing the root cause of your problem will give you the best possible solution. The 5-why analysis principle is simply asking why until you cannot answer the why your asking. Example: why 1: Why is your son late at school this morning. (ans: he was not able to woke-up early this morning. why 2: Why he was not able to woke-up early this morning? (ans: he slept at around 11pm last night. why 3 : Why he slept at 11pm last night? (he was watching a movie till 11pm). Ask why until you can no longer answer the question. Then when you arrive at the root cause, you can have the correct solution of the problem. Very easy approach and easy to remember.

Knowing root cause of the problems may be helpful in solving the problem. However, sometimes finding out the solution is more urgent and in such situation, we have to first of all set the things in right shape and then try to find the reason and be careful so as to avoid the similar problem in the fiture. Thanks for sharing your experience. Happy myloting.
