just a short explanation of what this section is. it is meant to be the satire section. not all the discussions are satirical, some are serious and some very silly, but a lot are. i have also been known to link to satirical websites although not often. p.e. stands for private eye - which is a very good british satirical magazine (also a mixture of satire, serious and silly). now to turn this into a discussion what did you think p.e. stood for?

Well, to be honest, here in the U.S. "p.e." usually stands for "physical education" or more commonly "gym". I had originally thought that is what it meant, but then I read a discussion that explained what it meant, so I already knew before this discussion. Gym can also be funny and silly, but it is more often sadistic than satirical.

stands for the same thing over here. i wanted something fairly vague when this got set up. you're right about p.e. - only bit i liked was swimming. they made us play football and rugby in the winter. it was awful.
oh and doggy, to a degree this is a crucification free zone. odd troll but that is all.

Rabbit, I kind-of wish that we could have done swimming. On the other hand, gym was embarrasssing enough without having to get into a swimsuit and dorky cap in front of the guys, not to mention that it would have ruined your hair and make-up for the rest of the day.
Dogg, fortunately we were allowed to do football, because otherwise I would have been stuck doing tennis.

not a good idea celtic, i might stalk you back. and you won't believe what drivel i can come up with in sensible discussions. i am not quite sure that answering the discussions of those on your friends list counts as stalking anyway. would you like to buy my new book -'trolling for beginners' -?

hi jb well this is really going to show my age, for awhile I thought oh how boring, a section on physical education, wowee
was I wrong, then maybe principle and interest no no that is P and I. so glad for the explanation. he he.Although for those who
will protest I am slighting the importance of being fit and active, I just want to say I would not be too interested in a section about that as I am shall we say physically handicapped. but satire sounds a lot more interesting.

personal excitement?
possible exhumations?
pretend excellence?
I was figuring whatever it was, it had to be funny. Private Eye, I guess you'd have had to be there.

Thanks for explaining. I believe this is my first discussion to your page, and hopefully not the last. I've always wondered what p.e means. Though it was physical education, but it didn't made sense. Then, I thought it was personal expectations, but what the heck..
.. then I started to figure out perhaps either it's a shortcut to a name or it's personal experience. Since you have explained this in details, I feel satisfied.. ha..

Pretty education, answer, bunny ears, particularly enlightening, even. Perhaps everyone playing especially hard here will ensure everyone else that satire is especially earthy good fun.
Honestly, I had no clue what it meant! pe here usually stands for physical education, or phys ed, that thing they called gym class back in the stone age when I put everything I had into partaking educationally in society.

To me as an Australian P.E. stands for the subject at school which is Physical Education or sport. I thought this about that when I first stumbled across it, but soon realised that it was a place for humorous discussions, although I did not realise that it stood for Private Eye until now. Thank you for clearing that up!

I would have to say Physical Education for in the USA they have to take P.E. in school all through it. I have never heard of a magazine called"P.E" sounds very interesting especially if you are a P.E.. Is this world wide magazine? What does it cover in it?

Thanks jb78000 for explaining what this section's all about. I was just wondering what p.e could mean, and from looking at all the discussions here, still hadn't a single clue :D

Hi jb, I am with Purplealablaster in thinking that p.e stood for Physical Education which did indeed bring back memories of painful, silly, sadistic and total physical incompetent ordeals. Then I believe the first discussion I interacted on was yours in trying to find ways to rid of blood stains, hence the call to all serial killers, then I thought p.e. might stand for Possible Explanations, Plausible Explanations, then perhaps Psychotic Episodes, it has been fun trying to guess what it stood for. Now I know it stands for Private Eye.

I hadn't picked out an avatar at that time so it would have been just the normal one they have on myLot.
What does "-ed" mean?

..or is it also 'sarcasm'.....
jb, now I remember, thanks to Thea for telling...
Will continue to make my appearance again soon ;)
