When I was younger my parents used to not allow to play in rain saying that you are going to get cold along with that cough and fever they follow on like brothers and sisters....don't play. Now I have grown up and want to play in rain but i have kids whom I feel that they may fall sick if they get wet in rain.....I stop myself for the sake of them.....waiting for a chance.....where I will be quite free....and enjoy playing in rain.........what about you all dear friends........

Yeah, it is definitely enjoyable to be playing under the rain. I also have the same intention too and it would be fun, I know. But I only saying about it without thinking of having a serious fun one day. However, there was one time when I was a teenager I used to live in a hostel. At that time we had no water supply due to some piping problems. My friend suggested me to bath under the rain because it was a coincident that the morning was raining heavily and we had ample time to bath rain water from the roof drain. It was 5.00 a.m. at that time and we had a good one hour bath. As for you, maybe you can play under the rain with your children but make sure that they stop as soon as they feel too cold to cope. Immediately take a warm shower afterward so that they will not catch cold. Have fun!

Hi, rorisricha. Your parents are right! Playing in the rain can cause a cold sooner or later. All of that wet rain that is all over your body will make you catch a cold. I don't play in the rain. I don't even let my kids play in it either, because they may get sick.

Well, it may or may not happen depending upon: 1)Whether you have been out in the rain for very long. 2)How much resistant are you to the adverse weather? Regards

I think it will depend on the person's immune system.if s/he has strong immune system,s/he will not get sick easily if s/he plays in the rain.if s/he has weak immune system,s/he can easily get colds or flu when playing in the rain.having a strong immune systems is a big advantage.you can save yourself from expenses of getting sick.

Playing in the rain is something everyone's done in their lives at least once. However, I'm not sure about the truth or myths that suggest a person can get cold by simply playing in the rain. Each person is different in how their bodies respond to being cold and or wet. Personally, I've been in situations where I've played in the rain, or had gotten soaked. However, while my body became cold from simply being wet, I did not become ill. Younger childern may be more prone to becoming ill from become cold and allowing their bodies to stay so for an extended period of time. I feel that if you or your young children want to play in the rain, that is fine. But, do keep in mind their bodies may not tolarate as yours might. Once done get them dry and in dry clothing. Allow their bodies to warm up to prevent any possible illness they may encounter (if any), and all should be well.

I am not really sure with what is the scientific explantion to that. But on my experience I sometime get cold when I play in the rain but not at all time. Only when I spend much time under the rain. But during those time that I just simple bathe in the rain (that was when I was young) I do not get colds.

You will not get sick just from playing in the rain. Think about it this way: If people got sick from being wet outside, then there would be no outdoor pools and kids wouldn't play in the sprinklers in the Summer. As long as you dry off when you get inside and change into dry clothes, you and your kids will be fine.
