A semblance of breakfast

I seldom have a formal breakfast in the mornings because I am just not that organized. Also, I try to eat lunch just before work so that I am not starving by the time my class is over.
This morning I was hungry so I had soy "bacon" a Special K cereal bar, a gala apple, some almonds and Orangina. A decent enough break of my fast only when lunch time rolled around I wasn't hungry. I didn't get hungry again until I was almost ready to leave for work and it was too late to prepare something.
I ended up scarfing down another cereal bar and racing out the door. (Sigh)

Oh, that sucks. Wow, how did your little tummy hold all that? I hate doing things out of the norm because it always somehow seems to put a "monkey wrench" in my plans. LOL Something always happens when I do out of the norm, that just makes me sigh. LOL

Hi C,
If that food makes you full and not crave for food because it already satisfied your hunger well--it's fine, but never ever deprive yourself from taking a complete meal especially that your job calls for more energy. I wanna try it friend. I don't know if we have that here in our country. Maybe we have--an imported food and it's expensive. Huh, i know it's good and yummy!

If you can not get wheat roast you can use tofu. Cut it in cubes, marinate and then fry it. For the potatoes you need some cut up onion and a little of your favorite seasoning. Cut the potatoes in small pieces; heat some oil then add the onions and after a minute or two add the potatoes. It is almost like stir frying. When the potatoes are done at the tofu.

I love tofu and potato. I used to do it with oyster say, garlic and bell pepper--yummy, healthy and affordable.

Very affordable! I can get a package of tofu at the health food store for less than $2 and prepare at least two meals with it.

I make a breakfast every morning (well, maybe not if I get up too late on the weekends) and I've prepped so I just have to gather the bits for my lunch.
I make up 5 sandwiches on either Sunday night or Monday morning and freeze them. I cut up my cauliflower and bag it.
Then, before I go to work, I just grab a bag of cauliflower, a frozen sandwich and a piece of fruit and I've got my lunch!
This has worked pretty well to keep me on the diet!

Hmmm, I'm not sure about the frozen sandwich. What do you put in it?

Interesting. I would never have thought about which condiments freeze before this discussion. I don't like mayo either.

I usually don't eat breakfast until I get to work. Though I have to be at work at 8:30am. Most of the time it oatmeal that I eat.
Sounds like you did eat a pretty healthy Break Fast!

This morning it was a tofu sandwich. That is the most breakfast I will probably have all week! The freezer compartment on the fridge is really small and needs to be defrosted -- like I have time for that! Can't keep too much fresh stuff on hand or it will go bad before I use it. Ah, well...

I started putting my radio on earlier. I used to be an hour before I went to work. An hour and a half usually gives me more time for a breakfast. Oatmeal really sticks to my ribs and helps me get through to lunch. Love apples. Gala apples are nice. Honey Crisps are to die for. When I'm running late, I grab an apple and a sandwich, then eat them before walking into the building.

Yes, I get up at 6AM instead of 7AM. Works way better. My worklife works like this. If I get called to substitute teach, then that's what I do (they call between 6:15 and 7:30, must be to work by 7:45 or 8:00). IF I don't get called to sub, I call the lady for cleaning and/or the lady for the herb company. One or the other will take me. Some days, if I have the time and energy, I sub and then go work for the herb company. Or if I work only half a day as a sub, then I call around for the second half of the day and usually get either cleaning or herb company work. If I get up at 7, then really hard to get to the school on time without running around like crazy.

Tofu sandwich, you must be vegetarian. I couldn't face that for breakfast.

Hubby and I have the same kind of breakfast every morning, which is slim fast. My husband doesn't get full off of cereal alone... so when we ate cereal it was several bowls and then he'd be hungry before lunch...
orangina?

Oh so it it s a soda, except without the added stuff that soda has? It's just oranges and mineral water? That's pretty cool.

Oragina is a carbonated drink made from orange juice. You can basically create the same thing at home by adding OJ to mineral water.

I just threw out the bottle that I had from yesterday but I think it's pretty much carbonated water and something like 12% OJ.

Well sometimes preparing breakfast is one meal that most of us doesnt put too much time in. In my case, I make sure that breakfast is not skipped and is properly prepared. I always spend time preparing my breakfast since I like salad sandwich, it takes me around 20 minutes just preparing it and another 15 minutes finishing it and that's how much I gave importance with my breakfast.

Well, if I had the time I would make a real breakfast with pancakes and tofu and maybe potatoes but lately the mornings have been too busy at my other home and when I am alone in my primary home I don't do it because I don't have a kitchen.

I make breakfast every morning and also wake up a bit earlier for that since it's my main meal, while lunch is just a snack for me, dinner is a half meal and post-worhout is another meal.
My breakfast is generally what people would call 'dinner': a protein source always cooked so fish or meat or eggs, not cheese or veg proteins, vegetables mostly cooked because I prefer them like that for breakfast, even two differnt kinds of vegs or proteins, fruit or fruit juice (I'm totally mad about grapefruit juice, I loooove it!) and coffee or tea.
The people I live with have got accostumed to my cooking habits but I see they always heat cold things, like barely heated milk and two cookies, that's not a meal for me. Anyways, different views on things, it's ok as long as there's respect for both! Anyways...I believe in cooked and big breakfast, not for all, just for those who like and feel well with it, but there's no reason to not cook it if you think it'll do you good.
Also I have found out if I have a good breakfast, all the other meals till dinner (and that's quite a bit of time!) will be smaller and I won't be hungry.

Wow! You are sooooooooooo organized! The only day I have time to make a real breakfast is on Sundays and my other half usually wants to go out to brunch. Not that I am complaining since most times we go to our favorite Indian restaurant.
