Procrastination

Do you delay what can be done this moment may be for tomorrow, or the next day or never at all and then it becomes too late? I am an organised person but when it comes to boring routines I have a tendency to put it off to such an extent that I 'miss the bus' so to say and face the consequences. How to tackle procrastination?

I do delay very often for what needs to be done today till a few more days. It is a bad habit of mine. But if I am urged for doing something, I can also finish doing it very fast. But in most cases, I am still on the side of procrastination. A better way for me to tackle it is to be pushed. lol

Yes. We all need to push some kind of an impetus to get moving. For me if I am expecting guests everythig suddenly becomes interesting. My livig room will have everythig in its place. I wish I had visitors every day

this is one habit I just can't seem to kick off my system!as much as possible,I tell myself that I want a little relaxation time,so I will be inspired to do what I can today.there are days that I can conquer my procrastinator habits.there are days that the habit is so strong, especially when I feel lazy.

We only seem to handle survival issues no matter how routine they could be!!

I know what you mean,i also think things can wait until the next day as i find that just like you the routine is soo boring as well.I try to do the housework then have a bit of a break then do a bit more.I try to keep on top of the housework as then it is not too much of a big deal.

I think everytime I am here in mylot I am procrastinating. I don't think it is a bad thing, but there are a lot more things that I should be doing. Sometimes, at work, I find myself in mylot instead of doing the work that I should be doing. It's just that I easily get bored, and there are a lot of interesting stuff here in mylot to justify procrastination.

So from what I see here, procrastination is universal. Some consolation I say

I procrastinate on different things than you do. I put off things that are technical because I'm afraid that I won't be able to do it. I do fairly well on boring routines because I try to make it fun by combining it with something that I like. For example, I used to do dishes while stretching by lifting my leg and resting my foot on the kitchen counter. I set up the ironing board in front of the television--a fun way to iron.

I am just the opposite of you. I like non-routine stuff which I handle with great enthusiasm.
