I Am Getting My New Harddrive Installed

so I am not sure how soon I will be back in here to post. As I posted in a discussion earlier I have been having problems with my Computer I bought the end of April from Dell, and it keeps on freezing all of the time on me. Upon doing a research with a Dell technichian Sat night on the phone, we discovered it was my harddrive. So they had to make sure someone who is a technichian for them got a New harddrive and the software for me, and is going to be here in the evening to install it for me. I am hoping that personally this does not take too long, and this solves the problems with my Computer freezing on me as this is quite annoying for sure. But one thing I do know as soon as everything is fixed, and I know my Computer is working I will be a happy camper indeed. So while all of my friends on here are missing me, I will be thinking of all of you and wishing you all the Best. Have a wonderful rest of the week. ~~TINA~~

It’s good that you’re getting a new harddrive it will make all the difference! I use my laptop almost all the time and that one works fine but my desktop has the annoying fault of freezing and being terribly slow. I know it needs a complete overhaul starting with a reformat but because my eight year old is the only who uses it for CD ROMs I haven’t taken the time to do it but I will have to eventually. Well, good luck with your new harddrive, hope it works well for you; you won’t know yourself with a brand new computer, you’ll be whizzing through everything! See you when you come back!

Hopefully it shouldn't take too long just to install a new hard drive into the computer and to install the basic software on it. Half an hour, an hour may be 2 hours. Just depends on how much you are going to get the technician to install on the new hard drive. I just hope you have all your files and photos backed up onto disk.

Oh, man! You have a Dell! My husband bought a Dell last year. He's had nothing but problems with it! At this very moment, he's working with the technicians to find out what the newest problem is. He had a fan stop working early this year that, in turn, burned up his hard drive. We're not sure what the problem is this time but it looks like he'll need yet another hard drive. All I can say is, I'm sorry for you! I've learned to NEVER buy a Dell. I think my husband is thinking that same way. When he was trying to call a service tech, he was put in a queue and was 19th in line! He paid over $4,000.00 for his Dell. That was because he had special software installed, plus he got the top-of-the-line laptop (it's a guy thing, I guess). All that money and all he's had has been one problem after another. I hope you can get yours straightened out and that you never have any more problems but don't be surprised if you do. I've heard some not-so-good things about those Dells.

Hi coolsudan. I have an Acer laptop and it's been great. My husband had a Sony Vaio before his Dell and that worked great, also. He never had a bit of trouble with it. I suppose computers are like anything else, most work great but some are nothing but trouble and it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the brand.

I know the feeling of having a new hard drive. I personally install a brand new one to my Laptop just last week and reformatted my entire laptop. I am so very happy with it, these past few days, to the point that I don't even want to search the net to expose it to anything. lol But I know what you mean about missing friends, I was away for five days and was so happy to be back.

I hope when you do get it back, it works great. It is sure a pain when the computer doesn't work right, especially when you haven't had it very long.

I hope it is installed quickly and more importantly, if you are like me, that everything is back exactly as I had it before.

Dell do not have a very good reputation for reliability or good customer service and personally, I'd not have a Dell computer if it was a gift! Hope that you get your machine sorted out though.

Computer problems can be such a bother! The computer freezes and you have to figure out why it is, sometimes it's malware or spyware, and other it's just something completely different. Either way I am glad you figured it out, and enjoy the new hard drive!

I'm glad you found out what the problem was and I hope the new harddrive will work better. I know how aggravating it can be when your computer freezes up on you. I used to have dial-up with my older computer and that was a real pain. I hope it won't be much longer before you will be back on here posting. I'm just glad you told us in case it will be a while. I'm sure we will all be thinking about you, too. I know I will. Kathy.
