Yahoos on the loose

Lest We Forget - Canadians wear poppies this time of year to remember all those who fell in the wars.

Two days before Remembrance Day (Veterans' Day in the States) the Cenotaph in Frederickton, New Brunswick was maliciously damaged. And I don't mean by some puny punk with a spray can. Whoever responsible managed to topple and smash a 3 metre tall granite cross. That takes a team effort. I guess the motto "Lest we forget" is redundant now, because it seems we're already forgetting.

What a terrible shame! That is such a cowardly and disrespectful act! I can see what you mean about forgetting. If this kind of thing can happen it makes me wonder how aware these youths are of the meaning and history of what they have destroyed! Sad shame...

this is absolutely disgusting, people can never leave well enough alone, there always has to be somebody that wants to destroy things for other people. It just gets me riled up.
