Did I miss something?

Since this depression/recession started things have been kinda slow at my plant. We typically have 3 peak times each year, back to school being the largest. The last few years back to school has been very slow. This year was probably the worst. We had more people laid off for even longer than usual this year. Now suddenly we're getting slammed for Christmas. WTF? Did the economy suddenly get much better & I missed the memo? I'm betting the buyers have jumped the gun & ordered way too much & we're going to go overfill the warehouse then stall out. What's your take?

its the same way in other places.. my bro is having to work xmas day delivering car parts! im like how many people do they REALLY think are going to break down and go to an auto part store?? i think everyone is having high hopes and i hope it doesnt result in layoffs or hour cuts after xmas

The way my luck is with vehicles & the amount of traveling I'll be doing over Christmas I could see a break down happening. So which auto stores will be open that day? On my end I'm pretty sure this will result in more lay offs. Our warehouse is going to be full soon & when it doesn't sell we'll be stuck staring at full bins unable to bring anything else in until it sells.

The POTUS and his minions are telling everyone the "recession" is over and a lot of people believe them. The stock market is going up, etc., so some manufacturers probably think it's going to be a good 4th quarter. I hope they are right but I'm very pessimistic.

As am I. I just don't see people suddenly changing their spending habits that quickly.

Just got my daughters progress report from school. She's not getting anything but switches this year no matter what the economy looks like.
