How do you approach Friday the 13th?

I used to NOT believe in superstition and take friday the 13th the same way as every other day. That is up until a few years back when I was just minding my own business at home, working in the garage when a sawed-off piece of 2 by 4 mysteriously landed on my head. Since, then I tend to be extra careful during Friday the 13th! How about you? Do you take extra precautions on these days? Will you be extra careful tomorrow?

Friday the 13th was my birthday this year. So, I didn't approach it as "every other day" - I took full advantage! Shame I fell down a pothole, broke all my limbs and lost a winning lottery ticket before returning home to find that it had burnt down...

There's something to it every year!Well, whichever year in which my birthday falls on a Friday... I was (literally) minutes away from being born a Valentine's baby. Instead, I get the ritual humiliation of Friday 13th February every few years... God must really hate me!

i take it the same way as any other day... i cant really remember if i had any kind of accident related to that day, there could be some minor, but i just did not care... friday the 13th here now, 5.08am as of this moment, so far looks like the day will start good... and will end good too =).. i hope i'll win this contest i joined today... lol

Hi, bounce58. Yes, please be extra cautious on this day more than anything! I am the same way. When I discover that this day is near, I will become more on edge and skeptical of going out or leaving somewhere. I basically take it easy on this day.

Hi cream97. First of all, thanks for responding to this old discussion. It does seem applicable whenever a month comes along with a Friday the 13th. I see that the next coming up is August of this year. I would be skeptical too because quite a few things happened to me on such as this 'bad-luck' day. It could be coincidence, but I guess it never hurts to be extra careful.

Just like every other day, infact most of the time I forget its even friday the 13th just shows that it does not really mean much to me. Not saying I dont beleave in bad luck because I do. I do think I get a lot of it. But I have never had anything bad happen to me on friday the 13th. I might have any other day but never once on this day. I dont beleave in the whole curse day. But I still think its fun to think about it but just dont let it ruin your whole day.

Thanks for the response. Although I raised this discussion more than 10 months ago, I see that it is still relevant since tomorrow is again Friday the 13th! I would have forgotten about it, if not for this myLot notification that says I have a new response for this topic. And you're right. I don't think there is anything wrong in believing that there is bad luck, we just have to not make it ruin our day. Friday the 13th or not.
