Whenever I venture into the woods for some fun and relaxation, I am sure to impact the area where I camp as little as possible. I always make sure I dig a deep pit for my fire and surround it with rocks if possible. I leave no garbage or food scraps around, bury my scat, and the fire pit and most times even rake over the tent area and around the fire pit. I wish more people would practice this as I always sees remains of other peoples camps, always. Please be responsible out there!

I was always taught to leave a campsite cleaner than when I found it. On the last day of camping when I was a kid while my mom and stepdad were hooking up the trailer to the mini van, us six kids would walk the camp making sure we left no garbrage behind.
Sometimes we found stuff that we hadn't left, but people before us had. the very very last thing we ddid before driving away was to double check the fire, even if we had alreaddy put it out we still dumped a bunch of water over the fire pit to be a hundred perecent certain.

That is excellent. Striving to leave the land better than before is excellent. I usually clean up others mess as well. It would be nice if we didn't have to do that anymore. BTW... I usually will bury my fire pit completely and spread the rocks out. :-)

That's nice, but we usually camped in camp sites where the pits were pre dug and set up, so it was polite to leave them set up for the next set of campers.

Oh yes, if it's a site in a campground, that's all good. That is a good way to camp because it centralizes all the people. I like to hike out and camp overnight. That's why I cover it all up. :-)
