Should we have a Constitutional Amendement that limits the number of terms that a person could serve in Congress? Right now we have Power Brokers and not representives in Congress. How many member of Congress have held a real job? How many really live in their district - more than a legal residence. The best example of why we need term limits is Senator Byrd 9D-WV). How many monuments has he built to himself and yet, WV is still one of the poorest states in the Union.

Yes we need term limits. Congress was never intended to be a career, and if we had term limits, then Congress would be more in touch with the people and a lot less corrupt.

I think your proposal would be healthy for democracy. I've long supported a similar idea in the UK - I think it would encourage people to get into politics for the right reasons, rather than as a shrewd career move. Professional politicians are dangerous and ultimately fail to serve the interests of their constituents.

With out term limits you end up with a few people gaining too much power.

We should always have term limits. I dont think one person should be able to stay in office forever.
