I hate it. I hate that it makes me love it. But I love hating it.
That just makes me want to eat them more. In my frustration of hating it, I take big chunks out of it, just to punish it for making me love hating that I love it so much.
Whew! That was a doozy!^_^ This discussion just makes me think of the little ones waiting for me in the pantry. There are big ones in a drawer downstairs but those are saved for an extreme case of love/hate it. Its kinda refreshing having this love/hate relationship with chocolates. They're just my guiltiest pleasure that I absolutely cannot just help myself.
Speaking of not helping myself, I will head on downstairs after posting this to sneak up on those little ones in the cupboard.Bwahahaha!

That' not fair BJ! You are being selfish!
This love-hate relationship is beautiful. It gives us more reasons to love it and more reasons to hate it. Coming to guilt pleasure, I try to make up by having varied diet. One day white chocolate, one day bitter and another day milk chocolate, then hazel ones...

You want a scientific answer ?
The significant concentration of serotonin, tryptophan, phenylethylamine.....
A Mythologoical reason ?
Food of the Gods
A psychological one ?
They even say it's our self restraint from eating which causes the craving and the enjoyment of the chocolate.
Health benefits...
You don't need a reason... Jut say you Love it once more...
Just enjoy the chocolate...Can i have one ?

Supposedly chocolate does have some health benefits. Dark chocolate they say is good for the heart. That's one great reason! Pass some over here please.

Even I love dark ones. They are healthy and another reason I like them - I don't have to sneak in them from the little ones.

mimpi1911 the fourth reason of course is the stuff is actually
good for you. I also love it and love it and love it some
more. so eating what is good for you and you love makes me
doubly triply quadriply happy. Hurrah for chocolate, hurray
for chocolate, and so forth. Happy Thanksgiving I m thankful
for what else? chocolate of course.

I love chocolate too.
It makes life so much better. Today was a particularly chocolatey day. We (my 3 year old helper and I!) made chocolate cakes with chocolate icing. Didn't have enough icing sugar so we used a mixture of the little icing sugar that we had, some milk, lots of (chocolatey) Nutella and some cocoa powder. It was so extremely chocolatey. When my husband came in I said, 'did we use too much chocolate?', and he said that the question didn't make sense.
We are a true chocoholic household, and would say that the main reason for eating chocolate is just because it exists. I can't think of any good reason not to eat it!

I loved your husband's expression. it goes to show how crazy you all are! Certainly a chocoholic like me. And guess what, I just can't find any good reason not to eat it as well. I am not a fool, am I?

Those are my favorite. Now, you've done it. Im gonna have to beg my Dad to open up those big ones for dessert. One bar is with hazelnuts!

I wonder what chocolate deprivation will do ?
. I guess so.
