I am so far behind that I will never get caught up...

Well first I was gone a good part of last week. Thursday was all cooking mania, family, etc. Friday and Saturday I was in San Francisco with Dearra. Monday back to work. And the nice info security folks gave me a lovely present. As of today, they are blocking social sites, entertainment sites, personal storage sites, bla bla bla... I didn't try, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get on here during those boring conference calls any more. So my myLot activity will most likely be confined to mornings, evenings and weekends (when the kids aren't hogging the puter). And I haven't even caught up on all the discussions since last Thursday. So if you're wondering where I am, that's where I am. Are you backlogged too?

I had baby earlier this month . . . so I had to stop being on the computer period for a while! I think I'm caught up with Facebook . . . that wasn't too hard because I could literally get to everyone all at once. But myLot is lagging behind. I had discussions that I started that needed responses . . . and I wanted to get to everyone before they thought I was a flake!! It took a while, though I didn't have a lot of discussions . . . but I finally finished getting back to everyone just a couple days ago. I promised myself to not start too many discussions in the meantime, otherwise I'd never catch up!!! So I'm back too!!

congratulations!!! boy or girl?
And yep, I have seen people jump to conclusions when people are away for a while. Mostly on Yuwie where people seemed (for a while at least) to get all bent out of shape if people didn't behave a certain way.

[b]I've often seen people here jump to conclusions as to why a person doesn't answer. I always wonder why it is they assume no-one has a life outside MyBot that needs taking care of! I always assume they do! So if no-one comes to answer my discussions, I don't become irritated; I've certainly had plenty of times when I was temporarily forced off MyBot for various reasons!
To those who read this & recognize yourselves, please be kind. Don't assume someone is "a flake" or spiteful, or uncaring--or has any bad motive for being MIA! Just try to be patient, & pray they're okay, & can return soon!

Maggiepie -
Thanks - Yes - some of us definitely have a life outside of myLot! I guess I felt bad for not being able to answer for a while because I do know that some people get real annoyed when there are no responses back (ahem, I admit, I can be like that sometimes). Like you said, we shouldn't assume anything . . . someone might have had to leave on a serious emergency - none of us would ever know!

I am basically the same as you. I am between a rock and a hard place and if I wasn't practicing in my religion then perhaps I may have hired a hit man or something to eradicate the evil torturer in my life.
Backlogged? I am work logged, water logged, tired logged and fed up logged. But I am also prayer logged and this is the only thing that is preventing me from walking off the job (well, we cannot afford to have four out five not working!)
I am also sense of humour logged and this is a good thing too.
*Looks around anxiously* Now what did I do with the hundred thousand fleas? Can;t find a good flea when you need one to send

It has always surprised me that you were allowed to myLot while at work. If I was running a business, those things would be banned. (I'd make a dreadful boss, wouldn't I?).
Maybe you should put in an order for your own little laptop for Christmas? - or buy each of the kids one for Christmas? I don't want to miss out on my Daily Dose of Dawn. You have been missed!!!

Actually it has surprised me too. Long time coming probably. Funny thing is, the concern doesn't seem to be time wasting at work so much as bandwidth problems. I really do have some mind numbingly boring calls I have to get on, but I guess I can find something to work on while I'm on them.
We are talking about possibly getting laptops for the kids. We shall see...

I find myLot takes hardly any download, which is great for me, and I have plenty for other things.
I don't know about other sites, but I know I used my monthly download limit in less than two weeks on yuwie. I could never open some pages there.

Download limit? Don't have such a thing here (that I know of). We have DSL through the phone company and things load just fine. Except when they don't.

Sure I can make coffee. You put the coffee bag in the cup and pour in the hot water...
Stands back and watches Thea recoil in horror at the idea of coffee bags.

That's a shame but I'm sure you will manage. I've been snowed under myself with extra chores, a visit from my daughter and other online activities...I'm now about a week behind. My friends don't seem to worry that I'm always late responding...they must be used to me by now...lol. I usually am too late for best response though but I don't mind that. Seeing less of you is better than not seeing you at all. Hope things are good for you.

Forgot to add that it took me 3 weeks to finally respond to this discussion. So as you can see I've really let this discussion as well as others build up in my inbox. But at least I'm getting around to them now. Better late than never, I always say! LOL
Happy mylotting!

It was different, that's for sure! LOL
And they say that it never rains in California! Hah! Goes to show what they know!
So, did you and the kids have fun with that bit of snow that you had there? Hubby had to work in Grass Valley at that time. He was glad that we got a 4WD even more so than before as it really came in handy up there! LOL

No wonder I never see you around for the whole part of last week during the usual times you were on. That's a real bummer, I know how it feels to be cut off access during boring parts of working time. But unless you have the phone to do the lot, ha... but then again, they would think you are sending text messages. Hmmmmp.

I'm ignoring my backlog and just going on from here. lol I'd drive myself crazy trying to catch up after my hiatus and in the end I'd never get caught up anyway so why stress myself. I don't care when you drop in Dawn, just so you do from to time to time.................you'll be missed.

So far, I only have a teensy little backlog of 66. But I won't answer all of them, just the most interesting ones. (sorry everybody) some of them are already kind of past their expiration date anyway....

hi dawnald well here today on mylot for a whole two hours we could not load our responses, could not even tell mylot admins'
there was this problem as loading the message was also impossible so it was sort of frustrating for several hours for all of us here.so you did not miss out on a lot here. I am sorry you will not get to mylot at work but some places do get really uptight. my best friend and I email each other every day and she has to answer me on her coffee breaks and her lunch break. I try not to do anything that would get her in trouble either as here in Ca jobs are so scarce., I bet you and Dearra had fun though in San Francisco. I am still playing catch up as last week my computer was out of commission for three days so dont know if I will get caught up or not. but I have 29.75 so far.oh my I just realized this discussion was two months ago. oh I do feel silly well guess we all have to do something silly occasionally. lol lol.

I got on at the very end of that this morning, but it was fixed before I had time to get frustrated.
As it turns out, I can get on myLot at work, just not Yuwie and Facebook and etc.

Hi, dawnald. Being that I was gone for four months. I can say that I am very much behind. I have learned that myLot is no race, I can be here when I have the time or feeling. I should have been around my 9,000 and some post by now, but I am only around the 8,000 range. I am behind when it comes to the months. But, I have been active for this whole month now. I am trying to get caught up too from being gone so long. I know how you feel when you have many things to do that keeps you from myLot. I had places that I had to go on yesterday myself. So, I could only dedicate about 4 to 5 hours at myLot. I try to get up real early in the mornings so that I can come here to post. That gives me a way to get an early start for the day. Just do the best that you can, we all have to.

Hi Dawn,
Take it easy-- personally i missed you and your discussions. I know you're busy with something else that's why i can't see you around here for more than a week now. You have all the time now to make up. Don't stress yourself too much for being absent in mylot. See you started the ball rolling again. So more exchanges of responses dear!

I wouldn't be able to do mylot at work, simply because I have very independent work and I have to do my work on time. Nobody is blocking my computer, I just don't have time at work to do anything other than my tasks.
I am lucky not to have any conference calls...

Some of those calls get lots of people on and only about 5% of them even pertain to anything I'm involved in but attendance is mandatory. zzzzz

Am I ever! I’m sure you can tell by the delayed response...I haven’t started a discussion in weeks and I am still trying to catch up on all my emails! I had my daughter’s birthday sleepover, my aunty and uncle from overseas for lunch, picnics and outings with the family and on top of it all my cat passed away on Saturday, just before my daughter’s dance exam! It’s been a couple of weeks of busyness, happiness, stress and sadness and I am really looking forward to things settling down but who am I kidding? Christmas is around the corner!

I always seem to be behind and the holidays of course are not helping because of having to put more time into other things. I spent the early part of my day wrapping presents and making out christmas cards and I still have a ton more to do and then I have baking that needs done by this weekend because I have packages to mail out by the beginning of next week so I haven't had much time to get on and when I do I am so tired I just want to head up to bed LOL
