Say it aint so?!I am a Caps fan and I truly enjoy watching him play but all this trying to hurt another play HAS TO STOP! He doesn't have to pull these cheap shots. He is already unique, a scorer who can truly finish his checks.A Star who plays all out every second of every shift. Why in the hell does he think he needs to become a goon? I hope these two games helps to make him see he doesn't need to be This stupid!

I read an article a little while ago that said Ovie's coach was starting to get a little concerned about the way he was playing lately. The coach said that maybe it was time to have a heart to heart with him, that he had spent the last 2 years letting Ovie be Ovie. He's worried that Ovie is going to injure himself as well as someone else.
He also stated that he thought it was just that Ovie played so hard not that he wanted to hurt people. But when they interviewed Ovie he gave that same excuse about going too fast and guys changing position, it all sounded good. When I was watching the Wings game the other night those guys with 5 play off rings were saying that is a load of garbage basically. That any professional hockey player can stop and can avoid almost any hit they see coming, they skate to well to use those exceuses.
Wings play Thursday night Sarah, hope you get to see the game.

You are right. As I have said before, my son plays hockey and I know that even at the Pee Wee level these kids can stop on a dime and change position. This is something that you learn at the Squirt level. There is a code in hockey that Ovie either didn't learn in Russia or just ignores. There is a level of respect and he needs to follow it.
For example, I was watching NHL network the other day and a player was down on the ice the puck moved to the opposing team and the player had a direct shot to the net. But he realized that if he took the shot he would hit the guy on the ice right in the face. The guy chose not shoot, sacrificing a goal but out of respect for the other guy hit the puck in the opposite direction. It might have been Detroit that did this. I can't remember but this is a great example of "hitting your pause button" so you can evaluate the situation and make a good decision.
Ovie seems too super charged. Something is up with him. It will come out. Trust me!! Ask Tiger Woods.... Secrets don't last forever especially when you are in the celeb spotlight.

I personally believe that Ovie is on something. He appears to be possessed. Maybe there is more in that Red Bull he drinks before every game? I don't know. I think he is having a hard time with his ego. His mother is probably pushing him. She is his agent you know.

Hi Sarah..that's what I don't understand either. How can anyone that plays hockey on his level, start acting like a goon? He's too good to play like this. It shows such a lack of respect for the game. He's always been animated when he plays but this is a step down for him. Does he really want to end up a pronger or a bertuzzi? He's lucky that he hasn't really hurt someone yet, I hope it doesn't take that for him to get the message.
I hope he doen't think that this is what true hockey fans want from him.
