Hi all, just a had a quickie question. I just started reading fantasy maybe about a year or more ago. I have read all the Tolkien books, also A song of Ice and Fire and some other good ones I got based on recommendations on these forums
Anyway, I was wondering what type of books you all prefer, Hardcover or paperback. Most of the books I have bought are hardcover. No particular reason I guess, I just think they look nicer. Only drawback is they take up more room then paperback obviously...

For me, I've always chosen to have paperback books because they are a lot cheaper for me to invest in. I am the kind of person that will read my books over and over again and to buy them in paperback means that I am able to buy more books than I would be able to if I were to invest in hardcover books. Beyond that, I've always read mostly paperback books so they are a lot easier for me to be able to hold than to have a hardcover book.

Most of my books are paperbacks, they're a lot cheaper than the hardcovers. My reason would be because there's no difference it the contents so why go for the expensive ones? A paperback can also last a long time if you treat it with care. And I'd like to carry around a book that would fit in a small bag or hand-carried. But if I find a hardcover on a second hand shop then I'll take the opportunity and buy it. I'm more on the practical side. hehe.

I like paperback. Hard covers are too heavy. I donate my books to a library when I'm done with them. I rarely break the spine of a book I'm reading. Paperbacks fit in my pocket or pouch and can come with me anywhere. I am never without a book, so paperback is much better for me. I'm a fan of fantasy, too.

I actually prefer paperback. This is because they are not as expensive. Also, you can bend the cover back.
Most of the books that I have are paper back. I do not buy the other kind, they are usually gifts of some sort.

I buy whatever I can get. Paperbacks tend to be a little bit cheaper, so if I can find paperbacks I'll buy them. However, some books seem only to be available in hardcover, and if i want the book badly enough, I'll buy a hardcover edition of it, regardless of the price.

Hello. I do read books whenever I get the chance, weekends and holidays. And, while I am travelling too, whenever there is spare time, I would pick up a book. For reading at home and to add to the collection, I prefer getting hardcovers. But, for taking along on the trips, paperback is more preferable, easier and lighter to carry. I would read paperbacks on the plane, on the long flights.
