Yes, I actually have both a girl and a guy that I can go to for advice or just random ranting if I felt like. These two are actually two of my closest friends, especially nowadays because of majority of my friends of whom I use to be closer to, are more like acquaintances than friends or best friends. I like to go to these two (usually separately) if I have something important to go to, as well as random everyday things that occur in life. It's absolutely wonderful to know that you have at least one person to talk to if you are ever in need of anything. It's extremely reassuring that you can just release whatever you held inside; all your feelings, to that other person, knowing that they are willing to listen and maybe help you out if you needed anything or just listen because you just want someone to pay attention to you for once. I especially like talking to the girl because we can relate on so many more levels than if I talked with the guy about certain things. However, sometimes there are things that I talk with the guy that I don't talk with the girl because she wouldn't understand because she wasn't there or she isn't going through what I'm going through, for example. But yes, it's very nice to have just any one or two good friends that you know you can count on to be there for you.

What is important is that you trust these friends that you can open up to them and even tell them things which you would not want others to know.

No, I don't have any one that I use as a shoulder or dashboard to unwind, but I do provide a lot of my friends a shoulder to cry on, and I guess that's why I have some good friends!
I have both, male and female friends!

The one person I always share my secrets with is my sister. I trust her that she will never divulge anything I told her. And true to her word she kept my secrets very well. She also confide in me like I do to her. I have another friend with whom I confide with but it's with my sister that I tell most if not all my secrets and problems.

Siblings can be the best of friends but many a time they become your foes. Nice to know that in your case she is your friend. Keep it up!
