Do you think the place your work for so cheap?

Maybe due to the economic situation, it seems that the place I work at cut its budget on everything, especially those holiday events. It seems to me our workplace getting so cheap on those stuff lately, since last year. On Thanksgiving party, the company only provided Turkey and hams for the get - together thanksgiving party. The rest, we, the employee brought from their home to cater the insufficient, including beverage. On this Christmas party, we no longer be able to bring our spouse to the party. The party is only for employee only. Also, on the party, you can only have one drink restriction. I meant the alcohol. If you want more than one, you have to pay with your pocket. That is why I refuse to attend the party. So, do your place also have a budget cut on those main events?

Yes, I have noticed over the years that mine has seemed to get cheaper.. you are lucky you get a dinner party out- that stopped with us about 4 years ago- Not they just have a buffet (caterer brings food to the office) SO people don't even get to go out and enjoy and dance or whatever- they work then go to "lunch" eat a few dishes and have to go back to work. We haven't gotten a raise in 2 years. And there a few other things that are just disappointing. But I have been here 11 years. I like my job- I just hope that soon we get a raise.. My bills keep going up, but my income keeps going down. :(

Hiya clorissa, Maybe they are really in a desperate situation. There are no parties here this Year in many Companies. I even believe they are giving away no Christmas Hampers either. My Kids where they work all have the same problem keeping everything together. I think they want to give and do something for Christmas but it´s going to be really quite difficult.
