I just came up to this idea for the reason that Iwas confused for comparing the two words... Just wondering if nurturing us by our parents needs to payback, and how can we call this - an obligation or responsibility? When some people asks about this, they said that it is not our obligation but our responsibility..such response confused me on the difference of the two words..just want to know your opinion and khow can this be understood in a very simple way. Million thanks.

Hi. As children, I believe that we have the "responsibility" to payback the nurturing done to us by our parents. In short, we have that "moral accountability" to take care of our parents. It is never an obligation unless you've made any verbal or written promise to do so.
Responsibility would mean that we are legally or morally accountable about someone or something. In this case, I believe that we have that "moral obligation" to take care of our parents in return. In our country, parents are "legally accountable" about the welfare and well-being of their children.
On the other hand, we have the "obligation" to take of our parents if we have made a promise - written or verbal - to anybody or any institution. For example, you are obligated to take care of your parents if you have made a "promise" to your siblings that you will take care of your parents during their absence. Or, you have "sworn" in any court of justice that you will take care of your parents under certain circumstances.
I hope I was able to help you. Have a blessed day.
