As a some of you know I am recovering from the Swine Flu and doing better then what I have been in over a week
Anybody who does not know Gissi, he is my little Dog the one you see on my Avatar he is my babay, he is mischievous, cheeky and to smart sometimes for a little Dog lol
Anyway, Gissi has been my little Nurse for the last week
He did his own Job Description I had no say
It went...............
Gissi sleeps till 11am
Gissi gets up jumps on his Chair looking at Mum and wondering when he is going potty
Gissi comes in from going potty and looks at Mum to see where his food is
Gissi has his food jumps on his Chair and goes to sleep
Gissi is fed up with sleeping, so he wants Mum to play
Gissi barks at Mum because she will not play and throws his Chewy at her
Now was I not well looked after
Ok so those where his bad points lol but hey he is the most lovable little boy anyone could have
Actually Gissi sensed before I even knew that I was sicker then normal because the way he was
Gissi loves his cuddles but after 5 minutes he has had enough, he will lie on your lap and next to you but after 30 minutes he has had enough of that to lol, as for handing out kisses goodness they are so far apart lol, receiving kisses on the head yep 2 or maybe 3 then he nips my nose as if to say ok that is enough
Well for the past week, Gissi has slept on my lap after pushing the Laptop out of the way and he would stay there for hours, if not on my Lap then he would be right next to me, he also has the habit of waking me up when he gets bored when I have my afternoon sleep to wake me up
He will jump up on the bed and bounce about while barking, which means , ok enough sleep get up now, if I ask him to Shush, he will lie there and bark under his breath, which after a little while can get on your Nerves lol, well he did not do this for a week till yesterday, so I guess I must be recovering then and my peaceful afternoon sleeps are over lol,
Last Night he was being a Goof Ball, he wanted to play whether I wanted to or not, I tried to ignore him but I had no chance, Chewy's where being thrown about, barking at me was becoming annoying, sitting nice with puppy eyes where distracting me from what I was doing.......then finally Gissi walking over the Laptop certainly got him my attention and yes I gave in I had to because he would have sat on it as he has done before
So what do you think, am I getting better as my little Boy is back to .................Devil Gissi
If you do not believe it that your Pets sense when bad things are going on with their dear Mum/Dad believe it as all my Dogs in the past have and this one to

Many cats are like that, too. One in particular was especially watchful over me. Her name was Briar Rose, & like her name she was a darling half the time, & scratching like thorns at other times.
But all of that went by the wayside when I was upset & crying. She might've been growkling at something the moment before, but the instant she perceived me crying, she would run to me & mew & pat me on the face & purr & ask for cuddles--anthing to get me to stop! She did other sweet things, like following me down the block meowing desperately to get me to turn around & come back, but the comfort she gave me when I was sad? That was the sweetest.

Two additions: One, that was supposed to be GROWLING... And two: I forgot to say hurray that you're feeling better!
(Chalk another one up for God!

Yes Gaby, of course Gissi knew when you were sick. He knew you needed to rest and more importantly, he knew you needed extra love and encouragement because you were feeling so down. Gissi loves you just as much as you love him - and has done ever since he first laid his eyes on you and picked you out for his Mum.
I am so pleased that Gissi has now given the seal of approval. When he says you are feeling better, I know it is true.

Animals make you feel better when you are sick, I find sometimes they are even better than people.
I don't know what I would do without my cats I love them so much.

That is so cute and so wonderful that you have Gissi, pets are just the best thing in the world.....and I do agree with you that our pets know when something is wrong, I have had shingles the last couple of weeks, I had it on the top of my thigh/upper leg. My cats normally always try and climb in my lap, if they had done it when my shingles started, they would have popped them and caused me alot of pain.....but my cats never once tried to jump into my lap until the shingles had scabbed over and didn't hurt so much. A week and a half where they did not try to jump onto my lap, I really do believe that animals can sense that sort of thing.

Hey Gissi good job on taking care of mom. She really needed that good behavior and the extra sleep that you allowed her to have.
You are right Gissi mom is feeling better and you are doing the right thing by telling her to get up and move around a little more so that she can get her energy level back up to the normal. Good Boy...
Now for you Gabs I know that you have a special little guy there. Give him a big hug from me. Im glad to hear that your feeling better. Take care dear and keep smiling.

I believe you......I think I have probably told you about my Reggie and when my mother was sick...he guarded her...wouldn't let a neighbor in the house that my mom didn't like! LOL....after she passed away we went home for the weekend and he looked for her.....all over the house...then he would go sit by her chair....then get up and go look for her...ended up sleeping in her chair....it was very sad to watch him as he missed my mom...

hi Gabs,
Gissi is quite a dog, i think he is the only dog that ever makes me laugh when I talk to you on the phone, he tickles me looking for the cat, yes my cats are the same in a different way, when I am not well, they stay close to me otherwise you won't see them much as they are somewhere asleep or outside, glad Gissi has been a good nurse to you, lol! love and hugs.

Hey gabs! Glad to hear that you are feeling better! And am so
proud of Nurse Gissi! I do believe that our animal babies really
do know when we are sick! I know that my Star as well as my
other cats always stayed right by my side whenever I was really
sick in bed! They were on their best behavior, even the ones
that would usually misbehave and get into all kinds of trouble!
I believe they just have this natural instinct about them that
knows when their "parents" are in some sort of trouble! I get
alot of upper respiratory infections (bronchitis or worse) and
they would always stay by my side even when I would cough so hard
I coughed them off the bed, poor kittys! But, they would come
right back up and lay in the bed with their "Mom Mom"! Now that's
what a really "animal baby" is about and Gissi is definitely one
of those! Hugs to you gabs and another big one to you Gissi
from me, Star & Luna!
