If we try to learn a new language we will do not harm in improving our listening and learning abilities. Learning a new language makes us to move with people of other states and make them our friends. We can also try to read the literature written in that particular language and appreciate the merits. The more good it will be for us when we learn as many languages as possible.

Learning new languages is really great. We get to be able to communicate with a wider range of people, and is also really useful when we go to a foreign country.
I can speak only 3 languages now, but I would like to be able to learn more in the future!

I have always been supportive of learning as many languages possible. Learning different languages enables us to understand people from different cultures and also understand their customs, and the wisdom hidden in their culture.
But understanding all this, it makes us realize that these people, from other cultures are not enemies or aliens, and they also have the same habits very much similar to ours and we must not discriminate.
We have so much discrimination among different states in our country India, and if all of us tried to learn each other's languages, just open ourselves more towards the cultures of other states, that would be a great advantage in improving unity and diversity. It can bring in a great national integration. But people are still too closed and narrow-minded to realize this.

Yes, cudamani, I agree with you! And people always express admiration to those who can speak several kinds of languages. And I also admire them.
So I really hope I'm wise enough to learn more languages. But I only can speak Chinese and English, besides our dialect.
And it's really fantastic when I communicate with others by different languages.

I love learning new languages! There are so many different languages in this world, and that thing that is said about being able to communicate with everyone in English is an obvious lie, as we know that many people can't understand this language.
I like being able to travel and being able to communicate with people. Also languages have so many things for you to learn that it makes it even more interesting

when our children were very little we did the OPOL method (one parent, one language). My husband only spoke german with them and I only spoke english, since that was the only language I knew. Learning another language opens learning pathways in the brain. It makes learning other subjects easier. I think everyone should take the time to learn a second language. I am working on spanish now.
