Hi guys, I am using the system in my computer lab and it has both IE and Firefox installed, but no administrative privilage. I was trying to learn about flash from w3schools.com and opened the site using my Firefox. Then when I opened the example programs, the Firefox displayed the plugin icon and said "Click here to download plugin.". But since I don't have the administrative privilage I cannot install the flash player on the system. But when I opened the same site in IE I was able to play the flash example program properly with out the need to install the flash player. Why is this so? Does IE handles flash videos better than firefox?

Windows will often reconize IE as the primery browser with all neccery plug-ins and what not. Since firefox is secondary and isn't part of the windows operating system. I own my own laptop, and even firefox will often act the same way (even after I install the plug ins) So I don't waste my time. I use IE if I have to for that very reason.

I doubt whether any browser is much better than another at playing flash once the right codecs have been installed and linked to the application. There's a bewildering number of add on's and plug in's for firefox making it a very powerful browser but it's fairly bare bones when installed to keep it a lightweight, efficient program.
